it won't make a difference, codecs are universal, and ffdshow is playing xvid instead of the xvid codec. If you stop it from playing it, the green screen won't happen in any player.

Still, use zoomplayer cos it's the best player out there.

What about subtitels? Sorry I am always a bit curious about windows players. From time to time I give a friend a CD and more often than I like it, I get the question "How do I play this?".

Zoomplayer rules!
It takes a while to customize/get used to but it's worth it imho.
If it's just the look you dislike, try the other skins! :-)

As for subtitles, vobsub gets my vote. Autoloads subtitles and it works with any directshow based player.

Zoomplayer is a great player, and if u have dualmonitor/tv-out it is simply the best piece of software out there.

I have a geforce that allows me to use dual monitor with tv-out, so with zoomplayer it allows me to watch simpsons full screen on my tv whilst i use whatever on my monitor. With wmp and most others it interferes if you try to do that. BSplayer is good, but zoomplayer imo is a better player :)

as for subs, it's played every single sub i've ever come across :)

I use the tv-fullscreen feature too. To bad zooming doesn't work in that mode..

Useful when you want to have a closer look at the nud..... splatter scenes :-)

Ok Thanks, got it. Small enough to burn the zip archive together with many films on one CD. :-)

@Death
Perhaps the right graphic cards with digital and analog output? Then you can connect to monitors. Not sure, but zooming should work then.

:-)

that's why you gotta use Koala player. It has every feature and then some..
It can zoom any way you want it. It has an option to play in 16:9 too, for the few flicks which have been streched and look awfull. or you can stretch it yourself, even in fullscreen.

you can also speed up and slow down the playing speed very easily. great when you wanna see someones head blown off in slow motion.

the best though is the very easy way in wich you can skip foreward and backwards just with the direction buttons. or pressing space makes it pause.

Or you can just use the 'bookmark' option, when there is something you wanna check out again and again......

As for subs, it is also the best out there. you can change font, color and position for you subs. And if it's out of sync, you can very easily adjust that too.

You can see all the filters (codecs) in use, and configure them. (no need for locating and loading the codecs sepparate Configuration utility)

It even has it's own Avi-fix option which I've used tons of times and I think it's much better than Divxfix.

ofcourcre there are tons of skins for it too, but I only use the standard one.

you can do all that in zoomplayer, or at least zoomplayer 3pro which i'm using. You can set the scroll to different actions like slowmotion/fast forward, zoom in, etc.

This is nothing special. Happens constantly to me. You see, usually they store the results of IQ tests in a signed 8 bit variable. With my tests this results always in an overflow :-)
