im farly new to emule (been on dc for along time) i have notice that i almost never get any sources (usually 1 or 2 pr. download).
right now i have about 20 dl in progresse and i only have about 5 sources in total. is this normal or am i on the wrong server.

For rarer 5 download sources sounds about right, for SR, 30+ depending on what it is.

To maximise sources, make sure you have your number of connections set around 1000-3500 depending on your CPU power [i have an athlon xp 2400 and have it set to 3500]. Get on a large server, i'm normally on razorback:
ed2k server: 195.245.244.243:4661

but these are good too:
ed2k server: 193.111.198.138:4242
ed2k server: 193.111.198.139:4242
ed2k server: 193.111.198.137:4242
ed2k server: 66.227.96.151:4661

If you've got a firewall, make sure it's setup right. If your using Zonealarm you need to be shot Disable internal firewall, make sure source exchange is on and if your having trouble locating sources, hop to another big server. Low ping / high user is the combo your after.

man, if u download 100 files in one moment - maybe ok
but if 20 - u dont need 3000 connections..
i have 16 files in download and i never have more than 150-200 conections :-/

I always get Too Many Connections if it's less than 2000.

I have it set to 150 connections per file

wel, as u said u have about 100 downs at one time.
crazy! so u have to have so many connects.

Actually I have 32 downloading now, and every single connection has been used

so..lucky!

I have 120 downloads, 96 shared.

Use 1500 max connections, 500 max sources per file.

20 max connections every 5 secs.

Emule 25b.

I am constantly downloading at my limit.

i have 30 DL, but only 1 or 2 running at a time, at 1-2 kbs.

this is my setup:
max source pr. file 800
connection limit: 2500

sometimes there are ages before a dl resumes.
maybe that just how emule works.
