Could anyone take me through the steps to convert divX to vcd ,so a friend of mine can watch on her DVD player.
I have done this b4 but that was about 2 years ago and ive been sleep since
I remeber using just 2 programmes and thats about it:(

p.s.
If the DVD player can take VCD can it also take SVCD?

Another question...whats Kvcd?

Check out the guides @ http://www.dvdrhelp.com/ they'll explain everything.

Maybe, maybe not. Svcd isn't a standard. Consider making a CVD instead. Dvdrhelp has testfiles you can burn and try in your dvd-player to see which formats it can handle.

http://www.kvcd.net, a "hack" which makes it possible to fit 120 minutes of mpg1 on an 80min cd-r. Works in some players and not in others.

A very good prog is tmpgenc

PS I personally use a IR AV-link to send from computer to TV, maybe that's an alternative if you have tv out

i have used TMPGenc many a time to convert my avi's to vcd format and found it pretty good from start to finish...i've got the tutorials somewhere from vcdhelp.com in html format if you get stuck and can't find a solution

and reading the reviews about the cyberhome dvd500 i'll be very surprised if it doesn't play kvcd as both my alba's play them and they weren't even supposed to play svcd/vcd according to the sales people at argos....i told them otherwise though
