It always works for me.

I never got instant High ID when I first started using emule.

And every time I lost my credit, High ID needed to be established, which uploading files does.

Glad I have another fan on the net.

You got a new cable modem I trust ?

Does that damn thing have a internal firewall ?

If so you might have some work ahead of you.....

ok I think some weird shit is happening now that I switched to cable (which I know nothing about btw) cause if I have emule running it takes (and yup I timed it cause I have no life at all ) min27 minutes for a page to load  If I shut it off everything seems fine.
I get all these wierd error messages I have never gotten before=
Lowid
your port # whatever is not available
and it goes thru nearly the whole server list trying to connect
Also nobody is able to access my server and I can't seem to use my ftp.
Called my new provider and they say its fine on their end (naturally) and it must be something Im doing.
I have norton internet security and even tried disabling it but nothing changes. Any Ideas?

Windows internal firewall needs disabling. Go to emule-project.net and open all the ports they suggest.

Maybe change your port to 80 or another open port to ensure it isn't your isp blocking ports.

The servers have been underattack for a couple of days, so this may have something to do with your lowid also. The lowid tester never worked for me, it always showed my port as unreachable, but i got a high id in emule itself.

ok did that and got this

timeout : timeout on ip ***.**.***.(6 sec)

this means, that we even did not receive a
RESET signal; maybe due to a 'stealth' firewall

ummm no idea where the windows firewall thingy is

The same shit I would get for adsl router - It HAS inbuilt firewall...

What modem you got ? Any documentation ?
You need to open the ports in that thing . :|
Oh dear.....most are achievable but some are a real nightmare to configure.....
