my emule isnt wanting to cooperate last couple days, i get choked out. 0up 0down(as in nothing uploading/downloading). i been trying different ports, i'm gonna switch mods some more, then if no work, reinstall my firewall, then maybe do a reformat/reinstall of windows xp and everything.
seems i end up reinstalling everything every 6 months or so anyways because of this exact same thing.

books plug in is only like 2mb, i find somewhere to put it.

hehe, i think that's me.
ive been starting it, leaving it on when i go away, too sleep, just in case it works. usually it will start out uploading like 10-20, and downloading about 3. wich doesnt really bother me too much, though it is a bit of a disapointment to see both up and download on 0.1 when i check on them. kind of feels like wasted time. since i got flatrate 100down/40 up now.
eh, maybe the isp upgraded it cause they block p2p now.
arrgh, my friendslist disapeared, errr, msg me in mule and i add people again. i just got jensus on it now. monkey HHAH is me.

I got the book plug in, few minor points.

First, the RTF files cause my screen to flicker constantly and CPU usage jump to 100%, I have to ctrl-alt-del to close it down, but that may be an issue with my setup. Best wait for somone else to confirm.

:edit: Scrap comment one, for some reason it will now work, wouldnt yesterday or all day 2day, fuck knows why it has just started now. Told ya it could be my end LOL My PC has a real grudge against rtf files.

Second, when I open the txt files the back button no longer works, I have to right click the document and select back, this takes me back to the main menu and then clicking book swill take me str8 back to the txt file I had open. The only way to change the txt file I read is to quit the app.

Third and final point, when I am reading a txt book file or any other thing for that matter, is that say I select comics, and then select, say, clive barkers hellraiser, when I then click back from that comic page, it goes str8 back to main menu, rather than, what I would think logical, the comic page. This is not so much a bug, more an annoyance.

Keep up the work tho cos this is building into a really cool piece of work. I never really seen many comics before and it is opening my eyes to a world of cool shit. :matrix: :jesus:

hehe,
actually, i ended up making my own text/rtf/pdf/ viewing program, though i canabalized/ripped off/de-compiled other peoples progs to do it, along with the video player i made integrated. i didnt want to set them as the default for the compedium cause i got some complaints about including cdisplay(that's why i took it out). i had figured most people already had thier own default viewers for books, and set the way they wanted them. I was hesitant to include my own hacked versions, since there was so many bugs with the compedium working on other peoples computers on the first release, i didnt want to really fuck things up anymore with experimental stuff.
i'll check out how i set the book plugin up, see what i messed up with those. i meant to have a 'goto main book index', a 'goto first page of book', a 'refresh page', and a 'increase/decrease font size' buttons, with the books themselves displayed in the center window, with an option to go fullscreen, and another option to use windows built in text reading capabilities(its usually in the helper applications, where the onscreen keyboard and magnifiying glass are. i love these little progs they got hidden in there.)
rtf files i dont like, though they work ok on my computer. i prefer plain text files, less chance of having virus or other crap hidden in them. well, actually i just prefer audio books. i never learned how to read. :.( i think i put the books the way they were to keep them small sized. the other books collection i had of c.b. was i think 20mb, but it had different versions of the same books, like 1 in html, 1 text, 1 rtf, 1 pdf on some of them. i took the smallest version of each to go into the plugin.(i think that may be why i called it 'basic')
i'll try to fix 'em up the problems that are popping up, as my covert goal is to make frontends without including all the stuff, just ones that can adapt to different files and formats people might download from emule. i like building my little proggies and projects, but i dont want to get sued for them. i use these frontends, so if otherpeople like them, i am more then happy to give 'em up for free.
eh, if u like comicbooks in digital format now, i had been working rather intensely on a comicbook catalogue program for myself, but was gonna put it up at that comicbook central too. i would say its basically like extremme movie manager, but the only similarities is that it catalogues your comics. basic setup like the clivepedium, cept different interfaces, different graphics, different coding, and i am trying to make a better interactive options for adding issues of series, and collecting the encoding info of the issue(like rar, resolution, number of pages,compression,cbz/cbr, that shit). i dont have a way to search for an issues info via the internet, so i ended up copyy and pasting the info from websites into each series own database, i just got every issue infodatabases for daredevil, alpha flight, and 4 series of spidermans, done, though it has quite a bit of work to do to get it to do what i want it to do(all the comic series i have).

i been trying to get the missing comics in the clive barker series, i dont have
the harrowers 1-6
or
books of the damned
or
nightbreed series

i got some links, but they are iffy and incomplete, i was gonna do some creative splicing.

eh, i made some little progs. one does a mass renaming of extensions, changes all the zip's to cbz's, all the rar to cbr. it only changes the extensions. i like it because some the comics bundles i get have different formats in them, running it will sort and rename them to thier appropriate extensions. i got the reverse version of it done to, it takes cbz, cbr, files and makes them rars or zips to get the jpegs out.

ed2k: Clive.Barker'S.Book.Of.The.Damned.#4.cbr  [8.36 Mb] [Stats]

these have few sources, they all have 2 full sources, and #2 has 3(cause i am one). Not quite in comic book format, they are faux (that means fake) newspaper clippings, letters from soldiers to thier families, historical documents about the hellraisor mythos, the politics of hell, the denizens, etc. I found it interesting, filling in some items about the series i never would have thought of.
Ive only read #2, and i would say i borders on personal taste on wether to bother downloading these 4 books of the damned. if u have the other hellraisor series, then go for it. it took me a week+ to get #2, and i just found the link for #1 today.

the other 2 series i am having trouble with finding are ;the harrowers; and the nightbreed series. i have ed2k links for the 6 harrowers, but sources are very slim, meaning ive seen a "last seen full source on wednessday' but havent seen it full blue colored myself.

I'm constantly completing more of these. so far I've got:
ed2k: The.Harrowers.#02.cbr  [8.95 Mb] [Stats]
ed2k: The.Harrowers.#03.cbr  [9.33 Mb] [Stats]
ed2k: The.Harrowers.#01.cbr  [10.26 Mb] [Stats]
ed2k: Clive.Barker'S.Book.Of.The.Damned.#01.cbr  [13.06 Mb] [Stats]

can these be used as plugins in your clivependium as well?

sure, though i dont have them yet. you got that clivepedium done, j.d.?
i can make a little plug in for the harrowers and book of the damned today. i only have 2 of the books of the damned, but it wont be hard to use spacers for the6 harrowers and 2 books/damned i dont have.
i'm trying to make this current clivepedium, without the movies, be a nice round 700mb, depending on what comics of his i dont have, i got audio books and documentaries/trailors, and a few misc things. the whole thing is meant to be set up as a 1-disc setup, cd size. the other version/add-ons, like the movie plugin, is for a dvd-r(4.7gigs, i think) with movies 1 thru 6 at 700mb each, equalling 4200mb, add in the comics and it should fill the entire dvd-r.
i'm not 100% sure on size of dvd-r's, i dont have a dvd writer. i was also doing an alternate version if people had 2cd versions of each movie, like ac-3 audio. like i got. that'd take up 2 dvd's, but i'd make it compatible with 'the undying'(a rather decent clive barker game, a bit old, but i like it), and some audio books.

hehe, if u can hook me up with those 2 book of the damned i dont have, and the harrowers, that would be swell. it would be the 'jon doe plugin of the harrowed damned'

oh well, my latest version doesnt have much new, i did ad a variety of sounds(if u ever wondered what that 'fly.wav' or 'chains.wav' was doing in the main dir), and some background music, an entry for the soundtrack, and was typing in a 'hellraisor/clive barker influences on other films' portion. also updated(or new) i organized the story arcs(i think there are 3 in hellraisor comics) and was doing a bio of each cenobyte featured, i got Face, pinhead, flaggelum(mispelled), hunger, wormhead, errr, and some others. hehe, and some doctor'd up pictures of pinhead as ms march, pornstar.
