if i had a hero, it would be steven king. Not for his writing (alot of it i dont like), but just the way he is, the coolest, creepiest dork ive ever seen on tv. I had no idea what the guy who wrote the books i liked to read looked like until the mid to late 90's, i say an interview with him and was blown away by his whole eeeeerr, 'presence' i guess i'd call it.

ah, i dont know how to explain it without sounding non-homophobic, so i'd just say if i had a rolemodel, he'd be it, and if your going to be a creepy geek, be the freakin King of Creepy Geeks.
though i kind of wish he'd be on jeopordy, or better yet, on something like 'surivor'. After like 2 days everyone quits cause he freaks them out. all the contestents need counseling because he told an anecdote about lumberjacks on a quite little island of the coast of maine, or something...........

nah,
on an interview, he said he wasnt anything like his books would seem him too be.
In fact he says he has the heart of a child. He keeps it in a jar on his desk, muuuhu hahahah.

(thats really how he said it)

or steven king as a kid-
'Mom! stevie's making the walls bleed again!'
or
'John, go get another rail sled, I'll tell mikey's mother he's dead'.

yes, i liked 'it' quite a bit. i read it at least 3 times. couldnt even be compared to the tv miniseries on how good the book was.
the first book i read of his was 'pet semetary' when i was in 4th grade. I liked that book better then the movie, too. he just uses so much backstory and descriptive information that i dont think could ever be filtered down into a movie, even a 10 hour tv-miniseries.

i did like him on the simpson's.
from what i rememer, it went somewhat like this...

'oh, no, ive given up writing horror. Instead i'm doing a biography on Thomas Jefferson, a very interesting man,
and when not inventing he liked to spend long hours in his basement, tortureing little green mountain men, and the key he had on that kite? That opened the door to hell'.

has anyone read anything from the Dark Tower seires? I've heard so much parise for it, but never bothered to dive into it. some info would be nice. I've somehow gotten the idea it's more of a fantasy (eg. D&D style) story?
Much rather apreciate your thoughts than just a link to some page where I can read all about it....
