Guess that makes this thread obsolete or how's the availability of the STR release?

Hm, what now?

I guess since you guys have more bandwidth than I got, you're on. The specs look very alike so both would be fine I think.

Any preferences from downloaders? As far as I can see it's either higher res or higher bits per pixel...

Uh oh its high noon!

Whats the frame quality of the higher res one (str). Probably not a drastic difference.

Yes, the Dragon Entertainment DVD.

OK, then I'll probably release it on Saturday or Sunday. Still needs to be properly checked (read watched). :)

Ok, I've just checked the rip and noticed that there are some disturbances on the bottom in some sequences (approx 5 mins total)
The DVD seems to have been mastered from VHS btw.

The options I have are either

1) leave it that way which is annoying of course

or

2) overcrop a couple of lines losing perfectly fine parts of the image in sequences which are alright the way the rip is cropped now. :matrix:

In both cases the rip would go to the LQ section. :(

Out of curosity, visceral would you mind posting some sreens from the STR rip?
Here are some from my version to give you an idea of the problem and overall image quality:

Frame # 70927 (shit on the bottom clearly visible):

Frame #74927 (almost clean)

Decissions, decissions... :)

Always better to overcrop by a couple of pixels to minimise crappage like that. ;)

Frame #74927 doesn't seem to be anywhere near the one you posted - this is a close guess:

I probably got a typo in the frame number or something. Thanks for the comparison shots. Have you guys added brightness?

I'll do a new rip. Now I know why I always watch the files before releasing them. :)

Zombit, this is not the same movie. Check the IMDB link above. I'm still very interested in the one you posted. :)
