The Reg 1 Warner disc is a single layer disc wich has a note on the box and at the begining of the film to say it has been "formated to fit my TV screen"

According to this page: http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=2361 both R1 editions of this include 2.35:1 anamorphic and 4:3 versions.

Have you, er, checked the other side of the disc?

If there is no widescreen version then I'd say hang fire for the re-release, since the image in 4:3 will be cropped on both sides as well as panned & scanned. :?
