AR:
1.875:1
vs
1.69:1

OAR: 1.85:1

Cropping:
Bottom is undercropped on the bottom picture by about 1 or 2 pixels (you can see the black line)

Its not best to compare from single shots, but i'd go for the top one for the slight resolution increase, cropping and the nearer to the OAR. Using your eyes to get the AR is a problem, since humans are terrible at recognising the correct shape of faces.

That any help for you guys?

Be careful of muxing the audio, you shouldn't use a massive delay (several hundred) I'm told, since it can cause sync issues.

Please post the matrix and avs scripts you used :)

I mostly try to look at the shape of the iris (eye) but most of the times that part is reaaaaly small. And I still get aor errors.

indeed several hundred, not seen sync issues yet, but still need to watch the complete movie.
Also far from happy with my current rip, will give it a couple of more tries. Think the hdtv stream has more in it than I got out of it.

Already posted the avs script (didn't use any vdub filters. the matrix I used was mpeg. Gonna try again with jawor2cd.

@video-man, ar can be fixed with most players and your rip does look good.
Can't see much difference between the 2 screens, leaving out the bottom crop and ar.
And I'm still getting your 5gig version :beerchug:

This movie desperatly needs a good (hd-)dvd release, been waiting ages for a good version.

Yeah, 353 is too high from what i'm told. What too did you use to unpack the TS to mpg? Aparantly the HDTV2MPEG or whatever its called is a naff way of doing it.
