any chance of an (1/3rd DVDr) AFR rather than a 2cd? without the commentary muxed? :)

That would be cool :)

I second that. :)

commentary could go as separate ac\mp3 file.

I really like having commentary with all my movies

So I agree for an (1/3rd DVDr) AFR with separate audio commentary files

I can re-rip it to a 1/3 dvd afr. no worries. It will be a little while though, as I've ongly got very little spare time between jobs these days.

But I'm not to sure about the commentary. I've found that commentaries which are released as separate files have a much shorter life span on the ed2k network, than ones which are muxed into the movie-file. Though many ed2k users are very good at helping out and keeping movies shared for a long while, I've countless times had to cancel downloading a commentary because there's only incomplete sources available. It basically means that there's not that much interest in the commentary I guess, but it's a great annoyance for the ones which do want it (like me! =)

Also, I always make the commentary track somewhat lesser quality, so the overall quality loss of the movie shouldn't be that much if I have a 1490 mb file, where, let's say, 60mb is the secondary stream.

true, but then there's people like me that will have 60mb of junk attached to it

I think you'll see more takers with 1/3rd anyway, 2cd is dead :)

I'm starting to feel like Spud's nuthugger but I have to agree once again. :googley:

lol, well i thought i was being honest :googley:

audio commentary is a bonus feature and only listened to by a small, very small subset of people who really do love the content. When they love the content that much they'll either buy/own it.

I've only ever listened to one audio commentary to a downloaded file and I bought the DVD which rendered the audio commentary and the rip deletable anyway

If the commentary is only 60mb, then add it to your 1/3rd AFR as 2nd audio, dont let these guys stop you adding it if thats what you want to do, youre already increasing the filesize to do an AFR

and decreasing it again to add a commentary very few people will listen to :wacky:

I also like releases garnished with £20 notes.... :googley:

2CDrips are dead because it's pain in the ass to download two files separate or to download first cd1 and wait for cd2 next two weeks

or my problem is... it usually happen that one CD is missing during download  I don't know how, I must have been drunk as fuck few times and thought I download same file twice, so I cancel it :wacky:

I don't even burn to disks anymore, 1/3rd is just more convienant and the quality difference is quite significant (which is also why i don't like audio commentaries in there, its deteriating the quality gain... yeah 60mb, blah blah, but its 60mb of nipples that could be blurred out by sticking a track no1 will listen to on).

ps. garnish :googley:

HeHe, ok, then how about ripping it as a 1/3rd afr then muxing the commentary to it just before releasing it, then people have a choice to strip it off or leave it on :googley:

Better not to mux it and save peeps the additional 60 mb. Personally, I wouldn't mind downloading+stripping the commentary but some people don't know how to lose audio streams and/or don't have unlimited usage. Those would end up with wasted BW and a non AFR compliant filesize.

I'm expecting Spud to concur now.

either way i`d like the movie if it be afr then cool if not then hell its gonna be better than my pirated vhs....

..would really like to see the "three kings predating" interior bone breaks in decent quality...

...plus... Nix`s "i was born to murder the world" has got to be one of the best lines ever.

Lets face it, theres a hell of a lot of dual audio AFR rips out there (even I've done one by request... TCM Ultimate Edition) but as long as the compressibility is good, its not going to harm the rip by adding it. I do agree with JD that commentary files are short lived if theyre not muxed to the film as I've upped over 1.5gig of the commentaries for TCM & theres now no sources for either of them, so to save the resharing hassle, assuming john wants to release the commentary I say add it to the AFR.
BTW, I got a commentary for Kung Fu Vampire Killers believe it or not although I've not released it or muxed it

I know... put the commentary in and don't list it on the file name or specs. Unless you look for it... you won't even know it is there.

Is there a way to password protect a second audio stream inside of an .avi?
