A young psychiatrist interviews four inmates in a mental asylum to satisfy a requirement for employment. He hears stories about 1) the revenge of a murdered wife, 2) a tailor who makes a suit with some highly unusual qualities, 3) a woman who questions her sanity when it appears that her brother is conspiring against her, and 4) a man who builds tiny toy robots with lifelike human heads.

Creepshow (1982)
Five tales of terror are presented in the gothic style of the old EC comics such as Tales From The Crypt and The Haunt of Fear. The first deals with a demented old man returning from the grave to get the Father's Day cake his murdering daughter never gave him. The second is about a not-too-bright farmer discovering a meteor that turns everything into plant-life. The third is about a vengeful husband burying his wife and her lover up to their necks on the beach. The fourth is about a creature that resides in a crate under the steps of a college. The final story is about an ultra-rich businessman who gets his comeuppance from cockroaches.

Creepshow 2 (1987)
Three more stories told from a comic book are presented by the Creep. The first is about a dime-store Native American that seeks vengeance on those who killed the store's owners. The second is about a carnivorous mass of pond scum that attacks four people on a raft. The final tale is about a rich woman who accidentally kills a hitchhiker while speeding home from an affair with a male prostitute.

Five strangers board a train and are joined by a mysterious fortune teller who offers to read their Tarot cards. Five separate stories unfold: An architect returns to his ancestoral home to find a werewolf out for revenge; a doctor discovers his new wife is a vampire; a huge plant takes over a house; a musician gets involved with voodoo; an art critic is pursued by a disembodied hand.

Freakshow (1989)
After being ditched by her cameraman because of her manipulative behavior at a murder scene, a reporter wanders through town looking for a phone she can use. She finds a small museum, where the proprietor invites her in to have a look around before leaving. In one room, she encounters a strange jar which causes her to have strange visions, visions that are suppoedly drawn from her own mind. These 'visions' make up the rest of this four- part anthology, which includes horror and suspense stories about a junkie chasing a dog for his runaway fix, a pizza delivery boy who gets a Halloween surprise, a living but paralyzed OD victim forced to undergo her own autopsy because everyone thinks she's dead, and a deal between a golf course owner and a gravedigger that has some unexpected consequences.

From Beyond The Grave (1973)
Anthology film from Amicus adapted from four short stories by R. Chetwynd-Hayes strung together about an antique dealer (Peter Cushing) who owns a shop called Temptations Ltd. and the fate that befalls his customers who try to cheat him. Stories include "The Gate Crasher" with David Warner who frees an evil enity from an antique mirror, "An Act of Kindness" featuring Donald Pleasence, "The Elemental", and "The Door".

Grim Prairie Tales (1990)
Two travellers, one a well to do young clark on the way to a reunion with his wife, the other a scruffy, feral bounty hunter meet at sundown on a lonely prairie and agree to swap stories to pass the time. This is a portmanteau film featuring four intriguing stories linked by the two story teller's attempts to psych each other out.

HorrorTales.666 (2003)
A burglar (Joel D. Wynkoop) breaks into the apartment of a popular author. There, he stumbles across a computer file that contains 5 terrifying stories dealing with lust, betrayal and revenge. Each tale was helmed by a different director, aside from Michael Hoffman Jr., who shot both "Stop It You're Killing Me" and the wraparound tale, which was outlined by producer Chip Herman.

Night Train To Terror (1985)
God and Satan are on a train discussing the fate of three individuals. The stories of the people in question are told in a trio of very strange vignettes. One involves an insane anylum with some very interesting treatment plans. Another involves a 'death club'. The final story shows us the adventures of a server of Satan.

Nightmares (1983)
A collection of short stories. In one a woman who leaves her house late at night to drive to the store while a killer is loose encounters some problems. In the second an arcade whiz kid's (Estevez) obsession with a game leads to deadly consequences. In the third a small town priest loses his faith and decides to leave town, but in the desert is stalked by a mysterious black pick-up truck. In the final story, a family's problem with a rat is larger than they think.

Quick Silver Highway (1997)
This film is actually two one hour stories, the first based on a Stephen King story called the "Chattering Teeth" about a man who picks up a hitchhiker and the second is based on a Clive Barker story called "The Body Politic" about hands that rebel against the body.

Saam gaang (2002) a.k.a. 'Three'
Memories: A woman wakes up on a street without memory. A husband cannot remember why his wife left him. The woman wanders the streets trying to contact the only phone number she has on her. The husband see's her ghost in his apartment and discovers her mutilated body in a large bag in his home (Korea). The Wheel: Extravagant cursed puppets cause fires, deaths, physical pain and a little girl to be possessed (Thailand). Going Home: A father goes in search of his missing son and is abducted by a strange man. The strangers wife has died of cancer three years prior but he keeps her in his apartment under the impression she will 'wake up' (Hong Kong).

Stephen King's Cat's Eye (1985)
From the macabre imagination of Stephen King comes this trio of terrifying tales. In the first episode, a New York man (James Woods) has trouble giving up cigarettes. He turns to a shady self-help operation whose hotheaded owner (Alan King) outlines a litany of incrementally harsh penalties for those who cannot resist having another puff. The second story centers on Cressner (Kenneth McMillan), a mobster who works Atlantic City. His wife has been having an affair with a tennis pro (Robert Hays), so Cressner forces the athlete to walk the ledge around his apartment high-rise. If the athlete can complete one lap along the overhang, he gets to be with Cressner's wife forever. A young girl (Drew Barrymore), in the closing narrative, has difficulty sleeping. Though her parents suspect the family cat of wrongdoing, the girl knows better--especially after she spots a foot-high troll coming out of her bedroom wall...

Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (1990)
This is really three shorter movies, bound together by a fourth tale in which the other three stories are read. The first segment features an animated mummy stalking selected student victims; the second tale tells the story of a "cat from hell" who cannot be killed and leaves a trail of victims behind it; the third story is about a man who witnesses a bizarre killing and promises never to tell what he saw and the "in-between" bit is the story of a woman preparing to cook her newspaper boy for supper.

Tales That Witness Madness (1973)
Dr Tremayne is an enigmatic Psychiatrist running a Futuristic asylum housing four very special cases. Visited by colleague Nicholas, Tremayne explains his amazing and controversial theories as to why each of the four patients went mad... cue four distinct tales each with a different set of characters: 'Mr Tiger' tells of Paul, the troubled young son of prosperous but constantly bickering and unlovely parents, and the boy's 'imaginary' friend, a tiger. 'Penny Farthing' tells of Timothy, an antique store owner propelled backwards in time by a penny-farthing bicycle in his shop, all the while being watched over by the constantly changing photograph of Uncle Albert. 'Mel' tells of Brian, a man who brings home an old dead tree and prominently displays it in his living room as a work of art. His fiery wife Bella soon becomes jealous of the tree, which the husband has lovingly named Mel, and it seems to be developing a will of its own. 'Luau' tells of Auriol, a flamboyant literary agent who will do anything to impress her sinister new client, though he seems more interested in Auriol's beautiful and precocious young daughter Ginny. Ginny sneaks off on holiday while Auriol plans a sumptuous feast for her client.

A Scotland Yard investigator looks into four mysterious cases involving an unoccupied house: 1) A writer encounters a strangler of his own creation, 2) Two men are obsessed with a wax figure of a woman from their past, 3) A little girl displays an interest in witchcraft, and 4) A film actor discovers a cloak which gives him a vampire's powers.

The Monster Club (1980)
THE MONSTER CLUB is a trio of terror tales featuring late great actors John Carradine, Donald Pleasence, and the master of macabre himself, Vincent Price. A writer of horror stories (Carradine) is invited by a mysterious old gentleman (Price) to join in a sinister storytelling session at a rock nightclub. Once there, Price spins three tales of horror and suspense featuring vampires, monsters, ghosts, and ghouls, all interspersed with humor and musical interludes. A cult favorite of the midnight movie circuit.

The Uncanny (1977)
Wilbur Gray (Cushing) visits Frank Richards (Milland) so he can get his book published. This book Gray has written are about cats. Cats watching everyone and controlling everything. He mentions the stories in the book are all true, and gives three examples. The first involves the murder of a cat-loving old woman (Greenwood) who gives her entire fortune in her will to her cats. Not everyone is happy about the wills, but would have to get past the cats to get the the will. The second story is a tale of black magic between two girls and the third story is a tale of murderous revenge...by a cat.

There's loads of British ones, and those from the '70s are generally the best examples: Dead Of Night Dr. Terror's House Of Horrors The House That Dripped Blood Tales From The Crypt Asylum The Vault Of Horror Torture Garden From Beyond The Grave The Monster Club Tales That Witness Madness The Uncanny Screamtime You might want to change the title to 'Anthology' or 'Portmanteau' movies though, as it's not too clear what sort of collection it is at the moment.
