06/01/2007 - It appears that mysql got a lock stuck on the two _config tables the phpbb software stores its configuration infromation in. These two tables have been repaired and there appears to be no data loss as a result. The cause of it getting a lock is unknown atm, it may have been a server issue or a user hammering the servers.

If you wish to report an error, please do so by AIM. See the AIM button below my sig for details.

If you experience a 500 error or a mysql timeout, please post the exact time / date (GMT) of the event and what you were doing in this thread.

In another topic (I searched for "Internal server error") I posted this. The information is about yesterday:

Upon opening the topic "Art of the Nasty collection" I get the following error. I first got it around 20:45 CET, and just now for the last time, 22:15 CET.

thanks keep them coming. I don't have access to the error logs for those times yet but i'm forwarding it to our host. Since its happening across all three domains i think its a server problem but he couldn't find anything.

I just had another one (1 minute ago) while editing a post in the Video Nasties Collection topic.

edit: and another one, trying to open page 1 of the "Art of the Nasties collection" at 19:45 CET.

edit2: since the first time I got the error trying to open page 1 of the "Art of the Nasties collection" I've never been able to open it anymore: I get the error every time now.

Thank you, i think MYSQL is messed up and dying. Either the box is overloaded or mysql needs resetting.

I've asked our host about it, its something I can't fix myself (ie. its not code or hhah fixable :( ).

Hopefully they'll be able to do something about it soonish :)

Okay, our host said he was going to tweak some settings and now i've not had a 500 in ages. A section of the frontpage that was timing out is working and the thread which repeatedly produced the error doesn't anymore (I'll keep the thread in mind if they reoccur, i think its because of the amount of content its retrieving from the database :) ).

I don't want to say its fixed, but I've not seen one in a good while now.

Able to open "Art of te nasty" now!

One other thing: it seems like the boards are slower as a whole, now. Loading up a page takes longer than before, but I can open anything now here.

our host hasn't moved the server like i've requested. The problem is the box is overloaded with other sites, several seem to hog the cpu and its just timing out.

I'll keep emailing our host. Like all admins, they are busy guys so hopefully they can do something soon.

forum and scifi have been moved, but www. has not yet.

I have stubbed out the header for the forum so at least they will work, but cross site functionality will not work very well if at all... ie. site search, news, etc.

its just a matter of moving www. folder to the right place and updating the entry in on the apache server I'd hope, so hopefully when they read my email they'll be able to do it :)
