I noticed it was a little slow lately, but not for the 'last month', can you give me some specifics?
My scripts that monitor the site every so often say its taken more than 10 seconds to reply, but its not regular.
I've raised a support ticket with my host.

just for reference, for example, now it is responding adequately (<1second), so I'm not sure.

Yes, you are right. Sometimes it's fast, but from time to time it takes over 10 seconds to load.

I've raised the issue with my host, there's only one thing i can think of, and that's the ftp of the database backup to another server. Maybe that's killing things?

Same here... slow only now and then, but I haven't paid enough attention to be able to give a time stamp or two...

Can I ask when you normally browse and what timezone you are in? I'm wondering if its the remote / off site database backup scripts and clashing with your timezone, unfortunately most of the hits come from: USA Canada UK France and a few other european countries. That passes quite a big timezone, in PST its 6:18pm, whereas here in Spain its 3:18am, and the box is in UTC which is 1:18am. The best time for running scripts like this is ~3 or 4am 4am in UTC is: 9pm in PST and 6am in GMT+2 4am in PST is 1pm in GMT+2 Just in case, the backup runs daily and the remote copy is now at 6:30am UTC (11:30pm PST, 9am GMT+2) and runs every two days. I might have to throttle the upload. I've got an offsite monitor, I'll collate the stats when i've got time and get a timegraph of response times.

Site is slow again. Took 6 seconds to just load this page. And I counted very slowly too.

fixed the frontpage news/shares 'bug' with posting text in safari or chrome, where it obeyed the hard/physical texting wrapping. All text posted will now indent only if you hit return on a line.
