Is there any interest for such a thing?

As you will (or won't ) know, frontpage accounts are linked to your forum account which allows you to post comments (where you can use the standard bbcode like it were the forums). Anyway, the intent is to allow anyone registered on the forum to build and maintain an on-site blog where they can post their verbal diarrhoea on, as well as video clips, images, etc just like you can on any blog.

There will be a link on the users posts next to www/email/aim/etc, for linking together, and possibly things like subscriptions so you can be notified if anyones blog is updated. All the usual stuff.

The intent is that people can post the stuff that's not exactly on the forums, reviews of movies they've just watched, or merely what they've just watched... what pisses them off in some epic rant, and also things that you can get away with more in a personal log, be it pornography links, pictures, etc. or somewhere to put rips of movies that aren't really allowed on this site (big hollywood movie rips you've done, random cheese, etc.).

It will take a bit of coding on my part of course, so firstly, is there interest from anyone for such a section of the site?

I got some increasingly 'neat' ideas (read: well my mum says i'm cool) for this, but i don't want to rush or half-ass the implementation.

Short concept is still: everyone who registers can have a blog linked to them, they don't have to, but they'd go and 'initiate it', as a reader you can tell it not to display images or "adult" flagged posts, for those at work. I want a simple posting page, so you can post from portable devices, etc.

Then there's stuff i think would be hella-cool, but i don't want to spoil it since there's a bit of programming involved.

You might have noticed that I've slowly being rolling out changes to the frontpad. The code is needed for the blogs, so its progressing... albeit slowly. I've added the avatar, page hits and some user info, as well as a 'trackback' link which lists the external sites that link to a particular article. These bits were all parts of teh design for blog entries, and required coding before hand.
