Short films section?

....I was wondering, why there isn't any....cause it's kind of hard to find them as it is....and this site is pretty packed up(great work btw, I found most of my goodies thanks to it).... so it would really help to those of us who are interested in, and those who know or have some, if there could be a short film section...any time soon. Thanks anyways

I have to admit, I've wanted something to promote short and truely independant films. As in films made by members of this board.

Unfortunately i've never been a fan of adding new sections.

Its my intention to modify up phpbb3 and migrate to that and that would better allow for subsections (there's a beta running here).. If its a popular idea we could do something.

I'd put it before Non-Horror Movies. Oh, and BTW, I think we should put all interesting shorts there, also those from the non-horror section. So the topic subjects should also look like that - Title (YEAR) (GENRE) (SOURCE).

i'm not a fan of topic title tagging, or adding another forum to the root. I'd prefer something like a short movies section being a subsection of non-horror, or something like that. That way you can have both your extra tags and your mix of all shorts.

But then non-horror wouldn't be entirely true, it would be more like a related genres section :googley:

But it can't be a subsection of Non-Horror or any other section, because it won't fit since some horror shorts will be HQ, some - LQ, and some won't fit the horror genre at all.

Even if it means altering the description of non-horror to something else, I still think that's a far better solution than increasing the number of splits on the root. Its pretty much the same solution at the end of the day, except its held under non-horror genres section. You can argue that that section already contains horror material, with exploitation/sexploitation/etc. so that shouldn't really deter things. It also means there's a clearer root and the only non-horror movies, shorts or not are within one section.

Personally I agree with Malignus. But if you did rename non horror to acommodate it, what would you rename it? thats gonna be a difficult decision.
