I'm not sure, as far as i can see we are still on the same box although we were supposed to be moved.

The memory usage has more free than usual, the issue was largely / entirely the lack of memory on the box as far as i can see.

I'll query to see what's going on, but i've noticed its faster. Restarting mysql/apache might have achieved a temporary fix so I can't say if anything's changed or not.

okay, it was a bit by bit move, so sites were coming off the box and moving across. So more and more memory was becoming available :)

We are now on the new box... hoorah! :)

Could we get our slower, but more reliable server back?

more reliable? we've not had a reliable server since xmas. The one before was much worse than this one; to say this has just been setup

Hihi, knew you would jump on it. But really, at least it felt like we had more downtime than ever lately.

Last weeks when we were alphonse were we had the most downtime (500s), then it got nearly as bad on eduardo (500s) since the box they overloaded and it had no where near enough ram; and now on eduardo mark 2 they messed up mysql :o
I'm hoping it will be just left alone; it should then stabalise.

Providing it doesn't crash out this week, it will won't be the worst week of hosting we've been given. Which kind of a weak statement on their behalf :(

Price for a stable dedicated host is too much and security is just as important (and unfortunately the limiting factor here).
