As Rogue has started a topic on Non-Horror, I guessed it might be an idea to query the LQ section.

I believe the screeners section is working fine, but what when it comes to Workprints or Stage plays?

I've just posted ''Evil Dead The Musical'' which has been playing on stage since 2003 & so far has never been filmed & released in a proper fashion. In this instance I think to put it in Screeners would be unfair as its not like its just about to have a DVD release anytime soon.

Anybody want to add anything to this discussion?

Workprints

There's a very strong case for workprints. Other instances have been halloween and a nightmare on elm street where workprints have been posted in that section.

One of the workprints (halloween 666) was an STR release and it both was and should have been in the LQ section. Workprints by their very nature are LQ IMHO.

The problem isn't so much the rarity or the interest in the title, more where, from a quality of picture / sound POV it should go, rarity is irrelevent.

Except they leak as pre-screener; take rambo iv, halloween, etc. Pretty much every workprint was leaked to the scene and brought out during the CAM / TS period.

Workprints should be allowed, they aren't ever HQ, but they are alternate versions, unlike CAMs/TC/SCR which are just crap for previewing.

okay, workprints can go in lower, but how about we apply a restriction that a dvdrip/retail release must be out if its a cinema movie before they can be moved/posted directly there?

This should stop big budget cinema pap from being posted straight into lower?

It means you can post workprints in lower as long as they are not for films currently on a general release in any country.

ie. When Halloween was at the cinema, the workprint should have been posted in screeners. For something like A Nightmare on Elm Street, then workprints can be posted in lower.
