I can only assume that has happened because someone has complained... presumable the same person that complained to paypal and had that shutdown. Its very all rather sad on the part of this weasel.

I noticed last night that it was displaying that message for only a couple of the imageshack subdomains, now it seems to be doing it for all of them.

The alternative is that it is related to lycos cocking up the DNS migration, however if i use one of the alternative urls to the site the images display.

Nope, its completely "over the fence"... you stop people hot linking by checking the domain of the request and then redirecting if it matches a block... and they have added the site as a block.

I've sent an email requesting they remove it. Lets see what they say. If they complain, feel free to complain of your own accord:
http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?pa ... q=customer
and say you are getting strange error messages about porn.

If this isn't the lycos cockup, then someone has lodged a complaint... probably the same fool with a grudge i mentioned before. Thinking about the other fish in the sea, its obviously some small fry personal grudge.

I'd recommend using an alternative free service; http://photobucket.com/ + imagebot firefox plugin is a good combination.

edit: imagebot even,
Just to be clear, I don't think this has anything to do with the new servers as its all done on imageshacks servers

Using a different image server is not the problem. Reading 100s of movieposts with the same porn message is.

I am experiencing the same problem on an italian forum, some of my signature banners (which are exactly the same I use here) are replaced by the same ban message. Maybe it's an ImageShack problem, not a Dead Doneky problem..

aye, that's a fix for new images, old images is a ballache.

BTW, its not the server in case anyone thought as much, its a very unfortunate coincidence... you can view the forums via ip directly and images are visible.

I wish there was a data mining + relocation script we could run to mass relocate imageshack somewhere until this get sorted.

Yeah, I'm viewing the site via the IP and all images are visible. I turned to Photobucket anyhow, because Imageshack is so damn slow from time to time...

Oh yes, using the IP I can see the images. The strange thing is that now I can see them in the other italian forum I was talking in my previous post too. This is beyond my comprehension.

that might be just your browser caching them @ dead-donkey first and then displaying the cache at your italian site.

I've launched a complaint with imageshack.us, if anyone has a script to extract imageshack images and relocate them that would be cool :beerchug: I could probably write one but i'm really short of time as of late.

Ok, understood. I have now (manually) migrated all my profile images to Photobucket.

Anyone any good at regex? I can do php / sql to mine for imageshack.us, but i need to quickly whip something up to find, extract, process and replace each of the urls

I need php to find:
http://ihjfdsoijsfij#46;imageshack.us/ijdsfoijdsf/sdfhsdoihjodsf/hfdsihsdihu.jpg
and
http://ihjfdsoijsfig.imageshack.us/ijds ... hsdihu.jpg

embedded in text, extract that url and do some processing, before finally replacing it.

A simple

Code:
http://.*(?:\.jpg|\.jpeg|\.gif|\.png)

should do.

But of course you must turn OFF greedy matching, be case insensitive and search for that until there is no more match.

that would be bad, it would match every site when its just shitshack... i wrote one myself on the train:

Code:
"@http(.*?)(.|.)imageshack(.|.)us/(([a-zA-Z0-9]*?)/){2}([a-zA-Z0-9]*?)(.|.)(jpg|png|gif)@

yum

Now i just got to preg_callback, into a get and replace with images.dead-donkey.com or something.

imageshack have confirmed that the domain has been banned, linking to porn of the dead on the mainpage.

Please relocate your images to a stable image host.

You should not put any images on the web space provided by your ISP. Otherwise they'll trace you down in no time. Am I paranoid? :)

Well it was just an initial idea. :D Your one doesn't match filenames with non-alphanumeric characters. Which is bad, because I often use underline and stuff to separate words in folder- and filenames.

How about?

Code:
http://.*imageshack(?:\.|.)us.*(?:\.|.)(?:jpg|jpeg|gif|png)

Is there absolutely no way to make a deal with imageshack whatsoever?

And about these code thingies: I don't understand them. What do I need to use (and how) to transfer my images to photobucket or something alike?
