10 guests couldn't slow the site down that much....

I tried to edit a post and it takes 30 bloody seconds :evil:

then ping a whole host of other edonkey sites that I can't remember the url of off the top of my head

Seriuosly, would this SR exodus be the true reason fileheaven 'closed it's borders' ?

yes, its not the only reason but the most immediate reason. Until everyone that isn't in it for the long run shuffles off to some mainpage somewhere. Fileheaven is already having identity problems, and you may note the flooding of shite in their movie sections.

As for stats, daily average this month is higher than last, which was higher than the last.

Despite the peak two days ago, the hits are climbing, but normally these go in cicles. A lot of hits directed here were from sr, either the forums or thanks to Max who added dead-donkey to the mainpage/links.

Regardless, there's lots of sites linking to us which i'm thankful of.

nope, just for new registrations. The site will still be working, they are just trying to stop spamming, stupid requests and mainstream requests.

Dunno whether this issue is local to me, or common ATM to all users, but I have for the last few days had a lot of hassle actually getting here, either a page cannot be displayed message, or I get that annoying could not connect to database shit.
