Okay, the Klingons amongst you have probably already stealthily cloaked your ugly carcass over there already, but we have just launched a new subdomain under dead-donkey.com dedicated to the sci-fi genre.

The site will operate entirely independantly, however you only need register once, so if your a member here, your already signed up. To avoid duplicate postings, the FAQ, Site Development, and hardware/software sections are shared.

but unless it's set up wrong on my screen the width could do with widening?

I believe that's a tradeoff, its a highly graphical theme, if the width is widened, the image at the top is stretched, if the image at the top is stretched, the planet splinters and the buttons get misplaced.

Been working on it all day... should have been doing my uni work too

The same just happened to me! It'd be good if you could fix this. Also, can I have a different avatar and sig on the site or am I restricted to the ones I use here?

The scheme does look a bit narrow on my screen (although I am viewing it at 1280x1024), but the design is fantastic, very smart! 8)

So if widening the page would spoil the look then that's okay by me.

I've posted in the DVD rips section, and I urge other HHAHers to do the same, this site could be great if it's well supported. What are you doing to promote it Spud?

Damn, dilemna : then where should I post rips of Starcrach 1 and 2 ???? These are sci-fi YET they are obviously horrifyin' 'cause I've never seen such a tiny bikini as the one Caroline Munro's wearing ...

BTW I really like the look of that new forum, though I'm no big fan of sci-fi :)

Advertising --> until bug fixing is done nadda. It's in my sig, then I'll post on the main and submit to google.

Can you tell me what browsers your both using? I suspect there's something with the sessions table that needs-a-tinkering, hopefully it will be fixable, and fixed over the next few days.

Unfortunately no, there is no way to store avatars seperately as the sites share the same user details in a single table. The only other option would be to ditch the shared user idea, which will mean the sites are totally independant and you'll have to sign up again, login/logout of the two sites, etc. and there'd probably be a lot of duplicate info in the database.

you know I could have half-guessed it

OKay try this, go into tools>preferences and dump your cookies. I have updated the cookie domain so maybe its fixed, if not, its going to be more complicated.

most odd, I can't reproduce it after clearing my cookie settings and using IE.

I logout, cleared internet settings, cleared cookies, logged back in, logged into sci-fi and then hhah.

There was one post here that wasn't marked as read, went over to to scifi and marked everything as read using this link:
http://scifi.dead-donkey.com/index.php?mark=forums

and the topic was still marked as unread here.

Did doing this produce the symptoms you mentioned earlier?
