Hey spud did a test of your add review button by adding a review...

Cool idea!!

Just a few sugestions....

1) The link title is "add a Movie".... Mabey that shoudl read "add a movie Review" or somthing like that as it is a bit misleading.

2.a) I think a extra field would be very cool.. mabey called... "sugested titles" were you can list movies that a person who liked this film might want to check out?

2.b) If you do that mabey you can find a way for a user to browse the movie selection BY the sugestions... so you say look at Re-Animator, then click in sugestions "Junk" then clikc in Junk's sugestion box "Verses" etc etc

1) no, it really is "add a movie" :) link when you submit it, its like adding a title to the frontpage, ie.
http://www.dead-donkey.com/modules.php? ... ent&id=319 (one I submitted for your review a while back).

It's meant to actually bring the ed2k to the page and add your own mini review and comments on the movie/file.

If you want to add your two cents about the movie, its probably best to submit it to the comment system I've enabled on the frontpage:
http://www.dead-donkey.com/modules.php? ... nt&id=319&

That will allow you to submit just a little review of the movie which will be ammended the primary download. Here's an example of one with a few opinions posted:
http://www.dead-donkey.com/modules.php? ... tent&id=49
(lol, spamming buggers :) )

The (how?) link shows you how to add a ed2k link, properally formatted :)

2a) I would love to have a feature like this, but I really don't have the foggiest idea how to do it... I suppose I could look into that comment feature and add one that adds "recommended movie" and you input a suggested title into that.

2b) once again I don't know how the best way to do it would be, but I would very much like to know how it could be done (i've looked for nuke mods but there were none I could find). I suppose it could build upon what I said further, but instead it has multiple boxes. First is Suggested title, next year and/or imdb, then below a box for you to paste the url of that film in the hhah database.

I have looked far and wide for a mod to do such a feature but I just can't find anything (i don't know what their official geek name is either, review portal?). I am not a brilliant php modder myself, but I can add text boxes and do simple parses.

I can't find any review portals that allow referencing to other reviews. I suppose I could change the comment feature to add "comment" & "recommended movie" and then parse the recommended movie url in to the comment if its wanted?

And we use bbcodes to add refrences?

Code:
[url=Moive@HHAH]Name.of.movie[/utl]

Code:
<a href="Movie@HHAH">Name of Movie</a>

Should work, I don't think bbcode works.

I was thinking of adding an input box which will say "Recommend/Similar Movie" --> input box ("Paste the url of another movie on dead-donkey in this box")
Comments: -->box you see already

Then I'll parse it together and the comment will be displayed like:
Quote:
Comment:
This movie blah blah

Other Recommendation: <a href="http://">Army of Darkness (1992)</a>

Or something to that degree. At the moment you could add that little bit manually using html :)

true.... but I wounder how many of the forum posters even look at the front pages much?

Let me know wat you think.. I rekon adding the html yourself in the box already there is fine... but you will NOT get as many inputs if all you had to do was input a copy/paste url

http://www.dead-donkey.com/modules.php? ... le&sid=202

Tell me if you were meaning something else :) The idea of "clicking" I think I follow you with, but that would require no-standard html, cookies and javascript and would be more complex.

This way. There's a box, which you simply post a http://www.dead-donkey.com/module...blah.blah link into. The php does the rest (create a link, extract info from the database, etc.)

No, one recommendation, one comment.
Code:
<br>
breaks for new lines in your review

I've updated the code a bit more. Took quite a while to get rid of many of the bugs but it looks like this:
http://www.dead-donkey.com/modules.php? ... ent&id=422
