ahh.. one thing though: the forum don't reqognize me anymore, and I have to log in each time. it might also be a error on my behalf, since I've been messing around with my browser... anyone else have the same problem?

I know nothing about this, but it's got to do with cookies rite?

I had to clean my cookies a few times and it still didn't work, but finally I managed to set it right. Today something seems to have changed, it does not recognize me.
1. Erase your cookies, temporary files and all offline content (It shouldn't matter, but it does)
2. Log in
3. Add the site to your favourites (if that's what you usually do)
4. Make sure that your link ends with "..../index.php", this is usually the problem.

it's because despite my constant pleas for you guys to use another browser, everyone still uses shitty IE

The problem is with your browser, you have to completely clear the cache and temporary internet files because that pathetic software doesn't do it for you

This includes, not only clicking the buttons, but going to the folder and manually deleting them too :)

I am just too lazy to change my browser.
Anyway, I've been cleaning my temp folder for the whole morning, still nothing.I've enabled automotic logon for FN and FH and a few other forums and it's ok; in case of dead-donkey it isn't, I don't know why.
The problem started today, yesterday everything worked fine.

EDIT: Ah, I finally discovered the reason i think. It's because of the forwarding which takes place every time you open the page. The link should look like this:
http://hhah.breezeland.com/Forums/index.php

I don't know why, but also the header in your browser window is different then. It should be: "www.dead-donkey.com :: Index", not "Welcome to etc". Then follow the instructions posted above and it seems to work fine.

it works perfectly fine in opera 7.11, I purposely set it to forward to forum.dead-donkey.com because i want people to use a dynamic url.

Must be a problem with internet explorer *sigh*

Thank you microsoft.

I know that the forward shouldn't be a problem, but for some reason it is. The dynamic url is convenient and neat, I like the idea.

Unfortunately, this is the only way to make it work. But the forwarding used to work with Lycos. So now I'm pretty confused. :?

okay i changed the domain back, and forum.dead-donkey.com no longer masks the url.

I also curse bill gates, IE and the whole of microsoft; may ye forever burn in hell :D

Checked it, works ok. So the problem was masking, not forwarding...

As for Bill, his employees and his products, I curse them too, but I don't think they give a shit.
:matrix: Bill (and it's not an ad of the new Trantino movie)

We should have the appropriate smiley in the forum.

yeah, works for me too now.

I use opera as well as IE.
problem is that when I get a mail saying there's a new reply here, it automatically opens IE when I click the link. (use Outlook Express for mail)

also I haven't figured out how to make Opera catch ed2k links.

1) you need to set Opera as ur default browser, i think i can remember doing by click right button on the start button>properties and it's somewhere there. i wouldn't know, explorer went bye, bye :)
2) tut tut, you haven't read the FAQ :D
http://www.dead-donkey.com/help/faq.htm , about half way down.
