hooray, at last, we beat off the BBC series "Drop the Dead Donkey" which previously relegated http://www.dead-donkey.com off the top hits on google...

Eat that scripted comedy

Unfortunately the HHAH alias isn't fairing to well, its still a way off of no1 in google it seems, however, several of the above links are referring to us (and some of them seem to be just pages of HHAHAHHAHAHAH :o )

"horror emule" has been spammed, so we are at about hit 50 for that, with lots of scammer german link portals proving that google isn't perfect.

so how come on that first link in google the first paragraph says this

Quote:
Drop The Dead Donkey
UK, C4, *BBC (Hat Trick Productions), Sitcom, colour, 1990
Starring: Robert Duncan, Haydn Gwynne, Ingrid Lacey
The Drop the Dead Donkey cast

C4's second major home-made sitcom success (following Desmond's started out quietly enough. Writers Hamilton and Jenkin were both experienced in topical sketch writing (Not The Nine O'Clock News, A Kick Up The Eighties, Who Dares, Wins...) sitcoms (Shelley, The Kit Curran Radio Show) and longer-form comedy (three editions in Tickets For The Titanic) and they decided to combine these skills in a news-based sitcom that was recorded very close to transmission, permitting last-minute script tinkering to incorporate maximum topicality. The writers kicked around a number of titles for the series but their personal favourite, Dead Belgians Don't Count, was deemed too offensive by C4, which feared - jokingly, perhaps - that it might harm sales to Belgian TV. So it became Drop The Dead Donkey instead, an all-purpose reference to a story bumped from the news agenda by a more important story or time constraints. Hamilton and Jenkin were confident that they could make the topicality technique work and proved it by generating a fast-paced, witty, almost American-style production. However, while this topicality is a talking point, Drop The Dead Donkey became special for the same reasons that all fine sitcoms are special: the witty interplay between a richly observed bunch of diverse characters.

:wacky:

is this Ch4 played it but the beeb funded it?

hat trick made it for the bbc if I'm not mistaken. I thought they aired it first, but I guess they just sold it to the bbc.
