Just a quick poll to see if anyone wants the bug fixed.

It seems that when posting a comment, you can't add one to any review that has ( or ) in the title, and every movie listed has these in (for the year). Now it's no problem for me to go through and change ( and ) into [ and ], but I was just wondering if you think I should allow people to comment on movies? At the moment it throws up an error, "I don't like you..." when someone clicks add comment [only just noticed the bug]. The comment feature allows users to post a response and a *rating* to any review. For me to fix the bug, it's only a simple matter or replacing () with [].

If this is so simple, then why not? :)

because comments have a tendancy to follow:
"how do you download?"
"I'm not getting any sources"
"this film is l33t"
etc.

and Film (1999) looks better than Film [1999]

That's the negative side anyways.

Yeah, but among such comments sometimes hide very helpful ones. I don't expect people to use much of the comment system anyway, and since HHAH is a small forum with, I believe, quite experienced members, I don't suppose this could be a serious problem. If you don't like the them, you can always deactivate the comment system in the future.

that's the plus :)

I've posted on some phpnuke sites about the bug anyways, see if there's some fix. Would rather have the code working 100% :)

Not that i'm encouraging anyone doing more work, but how about like a rating system/poll? like a 'there are 5 positive responses and 20912 negative responses for this movie'. Or have like
something along the lines of-
'rate this movie'
Video/Picture - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Sound Quality -
Plot -
FX -
etc-
and last have a user comment, as most people wouldnt just write 'this movie rocked' 'Eminem Rulez' or assorted nonsense after they actuall took the time to rate the other stuff first.
though i would just put a 'has hasselhoff- yes/no' as the deciding factor.

comments are backup on all sections of the frontpage. They can rate out of ten, and leave a review.
