okay looks like only 3 were opposed. Now, placement, should it go at the bottom of movies, under Non-horror, or above non-horror and under screeners? :wacky:

Some guidelines that you think summarise what posting should be. Unregistered trackers should like a good rule.

I say above non horror and under screeners. But i'm not too particular where it ends up. Whatever the other guys think.

I think it should have pretty much the same guidelines as the high/low quality sections. It should have a synopsis, all files specs for audio/video, and it should have screenshots and i'm with Wargand on the registered tracker bit. I fucking can't stand them but if you do allow them maybe have a sub section for ones that use those kind of trackers so i can avoid them like the plague!!

Cheers for the section SantaSpud!! :D

I'd say at the bottom of movies, this is still an ed2k site.

Exaclty. No need to mix it with other ed2k link areas on the board.

I think a totally seperate area. If it is going to be a single section, then it should include everything (movies, series, nonhorror, games, etc.). Really wouldn't fit with any other area on the board.

I like the idea more and more. I use bt occasionally, and I think it would actually serve to bring more files to ed2k.

What i would like to know is how the posting will be moderated. Like if there's already an ed2k release on this forum of the torrent being uploaded then does it get deleted? Like when somene posts an ed2k of a flick that's already on the board somewhere then the post gets locked or deleted. Would it work the same for the torrent section? Might help keep original content being posted here to help out the ed2k portion of the site. :)

You mean if there is a torrent posted with a ed2k link, will a seperate posting of just the torrent in the torrent section be deleted?

I would hope that torrents would be limited to the torrent section only. If they weren't, then what would be the point of a new section?

No i mean say if somebody wanted to upload Zombie Holocaust as a torrent. But there was an ed2k of that release already on the forum in the High Quality section. Would the torrent get deleted? I think it should. Just because the torrent section should only be on here to benefit the ed2k portion. As in flicks that cannot be found on ed2k then the torrent would be allowed. I think it would help keep original content on here and save from seeing multiple posts of flicks everybody already has or can get on the mule.

It would also i think please those guys that hate torrents but know that if the movie can't be found on ed2k then they could request the ed2k link of the flick when the torrent has finished being seeded.

I agree with ThEdEaDLiVe

The Primary reason that a BT section is being added is to bring files to the ed2k forum.

Otherwise the section would be flooded with releases, and they'd be lost on the second page!

I think it was mostly me. After re-reading, it makes sense.

-a section for torrents
-only of files not yet available on ed2k
-only unregistered trackers
-once they become available, the post deleted

Sounds like a good idea. Would make a nice clean section.

Or as its done now, the ed2k is appended to the main page and the thread is moved?

I agree with what you guys have said, but I do not understand why only torrents of films not available will be listed?

I would prefer any horror films, except duplicates, from open trackers.

Or that. Only thing that might happen is the leaving behind of too much irrelevant torrent discussion, if changed to an ed2k post. Doesn't really seem like it would be an issue though.

To limit the torrents posted to only those that would be of benefit to ed2k network?

I voted no first (it seems I'm a little late though), since torrents don't live longer and it usually floods forums with unnecessary pages with dead torrents (just look at some BT horror forums and you'll see what I mean). But then the idea of deleting the torrent announcement and converting it to ed2k announcement seemed fine.

As for the irrevelant torrent discussion, after the ed2k link appended to the post and it moved to ED2K section, all torrent related post may be deleted. But I don't think there'll be much torrent discussion, since we usually don't discuss ed2k links but movies :)

So my final decision on the matter is "indifferent" :-o

speaking of torrents dying quickly.......

Does that mean that the request/reshare section will now allow people to request reshares on dead torrents?

This site could end up split down the middle for torrents/ed2k.

Or we stick with just links being posted and remove any reseed request by newbs?

since i don't know if anyones admined/know anything about phpbb, there's also the option to autoprune sections, which can clear out all the posts over a certain time period old too.

nope, request = Request a movie, not request a movie on a network! Reshare = reshare not reseed,

Seeding? What's all this seeding? We'll have no trouble here... this is an honest forum and a local forum, there's nothing for you here!
