In my opinion it would be a great addition to the forum. :)
I use mule and bt, but have found myself using latter a lot more lately.

Stuck a poll on, I'm really not too fussed. There'd have to be some 'guidelines' written up and what have you, I'm not too bothered about the section creation so whatever everyone wants :)

I'm OK with this, but still really keen on HHAH being primarily an ed2k link site.

I think the main reason this place is such a great community is that it's the "type" of people that use eMule/ed2k

But the odd torrent now and again is good :beerchug:

So spud you going to set up a tracker then?
What's the share ratio cut off going to be ..... 1000 :P

not too bothered myself either seeing as i and BT dont get along really. but there does seem to be a few ppl now that spread files in only this way so maybe add to teh unverified section until they are shared on the ed2k network?

I myself would love it. It's the only way i can give back to you guys here until my upload improves. And somebody usually helps me out by posting the ed2k for you guys once they get the torrent anyways.

It might help those that hate torrents when they check out the screener section. It's made for unverified releases of ed2k and the stuff i upload i can verify and post any info and screens you need.

In no way am i trying to horde in on you ed2k guys who hate torrents. I just figure if they have there own section then those that hate them will just avoid it and those who like both can download it and spread on ed2k if they wish.

So c'mon Spud! What you waiting for :beerchug:

The problem is that torrents die rather quickly, so I think their place is forever in the unverified section, since they are valid only for a very short period of time. But if everyone else wants a BT section, I'm not bothered either.

I'd really rather leave them in the unverified section, since this is primarily an ed2k site, and they die pretty quickly.

It might be easier to recogninze them as torrents, if they had their own section? I never click them anyway. An alternative could perhaps be to add a (BT) tag as subject?

As I'd hate to see this site taken over by Torrents, I'd prefer it to stay the way it is now. I'm a little concerned about people asking for constant reseeds, and/or bt links for ed2k releases, as well..

If we DO get a section for BT, how would we handle the subjects, if a ed2k link popped up? Move the thread? Copy it? Would it mean we'd constantly have to look through the posts in the BT section to scour them for ed2k links? Cause I'm guessing that if a BT section pops up, we'd probably see alot more BT links posted....

BT section is ok, but only free trackers allowed!

I like it the way it is today. The good thing with this way is that a lot of rare files are spread for a long time, and torrents tends to die in a couple of weeks anyway. :outsider:

True. But you can get torrents faster. And I like to get files from BT and spread them on edonkey. So you have the best of two worlds.

There are plenty of long standing members who use both, so quite simply if a member downloads a movie from a torrent and they wish to share on ed2k, they can just make an announce in the relevant ed2k section.

The torrent area should be for torrent links only and should be a sideline to the core activity of ed2k links.

IMO. ;)

I like that idea also JD about adding the (bt) tag in the subject. If the section doesn't come about then i got no problem just adding that to the subject header :)

I voted no. Just seemed like a bad idea to have two seperate posts for the same thing.
But after thinking about it, doesn't seem a bad idea. Everyone would know what to expect in the section, would clear-up the unverified for ed2k only, would be easy to maintain and easy to set up rules for posting of torrents. Searching wouldn't be a problem because you can always tell what section the result is from.

Scratch one no and add a yes.

Why have a seperate section? Why not just have torrents as a secondary thing, just bolt a torrent link onto the bottom of an ed2k link. That way the site stays mainly ed2k and everyone is happy.

You guys catch my drift, a torrent can only be listed here if the file is already on ed2k.

I'd the the other way round. Torrent only if it is not on ed2k ;-)

Sorry, I meant if the ed2k file is already on these forums. Either that or a specific tag so ppl know.

tags are but ugly, the whole point is to keep meta data out of topic titles beyond where its totally unavoidable.

If they weren't total gay, everyone would be tagging everything REL: and REQ:

I don't see why there needs to be two threads, when an ed2k is posted, its not particularly hard to move a thread. We have a button for this don't you know

I read most of the threads posted anyway. I think some people might not see the point. The point is that the screener section is already two things, screener and unverified, but its acting as screener and unverified, and verified torrents.

I'm not too bothered, but a torrent only thread won't be mixed in with verified ed2k links either way (barring screeners, and they can go to hell  )
