Recently there appeared a few huge avatars and signatures on the forum. This causes the forums to open very slowly on slower (eg. modem) connections. It also looks quite messy, if you ask me. Usually it's 100x100 or 120x120 in forum rules, so I can't see why anybody's avatar's size should be 220x300. Isn't there any possibility to impose avatar and sig limits?

nope phpbb is still crappy on that front and doesn't have any restrictions on remotly linked avatars

Please post any avatars over 100x100 in the mods section and i'll delete them in the admin panel

Well at first I thought it was nice, but now I think it's a piece of shit in comparison to phpbb. More features true but regardless, I think that phpbb is better.

phpbb 2.2 looks ace and has all the features of other boards that are important whilst feeling like the previous versions. I don't know when they will release it however, hopefully in a month or two :)

i think that 120x120 could be appropriate max size. that ain't too big yet...

I think yours look good, though you should stay out of the sun or use a enbalming fluid with a higher rot protection factor.

eheheheeee

True. Thanks for the advice... just one day without sun lotion and this is the result... just kidding, this is just an unfortunate side effect of sleeping with the worms and tasting the sweet fluids of the infernal succubi :P

no, iconoclast, yours is fine. It's excessively wide that's the biggest problem, or if your avatar is bigger than your average post. Same goes for sigs except it's more a vertical size issue with them.

hehe, I am actually hosting yours katya, I resized in psp (It was too wide) and uploaded to my lycos account :)

I can host more that way if they need resizing as lycos.co.uk allow remote linking and ftp access. I won't be enabling the local hosting option because I don't want to use more bandwidth than I have to :)
