Anybody know anything about this? From their website it sounds like a great little program, especially for transferring newly released files to trustworthy sources, for the self-releaser like myself. Not a replacement for torrents or emule, but sort of a companion, or 1-to-1 trading. I'd figured I'll see what you all think, since there many skeptics on here

I dont know MUTE, but FTP is either expensive or slow :(

I've been using this little neat program for quite some time, and let me tell you is great!

You just need to upload whatever you want to, pass the pando package to everyone you want to have the initial release and off you go sharing on emule (or torrent).

Plus, all files uploaded to pando servers are encrypted, so there's no way they know what you're uploading, so, theres protection for all, the uploader, the company and the downloader.

It works great to spread files as quick as possible, as it just downloads top speed (and uploads top speed too).

The downside (and why it doesnt replace torrent, nzb nor emule) is because the files only stay 15 days online.

expensive? how do you mean?

slow? FTP is an optimised protocol, its got very tight user access rights and management. Its more than capable of utilising line max, the packet overheads are very small. There's a reason its been around longer than the WWW :)

Slow:
'Cause many many times we use our own computers as FTP servers, so ppl can download the file we want to upload.
This solution is slow, due to the upload cap many internet users have with their ISP.

Expensive:
If you want to have an extremely fast FTP server, you'll have to pay big bucks in order to have it.

Plus, the files inside the ftp server are easily accesible for the owner of the server, whilst pando files are encrypted, fast and free to use.
