Post subject:  Nero Update 60015

There is a problem with the 60015 update to Nero 6. Nero reports that normally recordable ~700MB files are not recordable because of insufficient disc space on the cd media. Dropping back to the 60011 update fixes it.

You can see a thread discussing it at cdfreaks.com.

Now I'll stop thinking that I got a bad 100 pack cd-r. :)

I only use the first set of nero 6, that includes the burning rom, tools, wave editor, etc. Haven't even tried the other stuff. The layout is a little different, no separate pop up burning window, got rid of the wizard. I have no complaints, and don't have any reasons to go back to 5.5.

Others may use Nero for other things than I do, and not like the changes in 6. I guess give it a try and see. I haven't run into anything that makes it a must though.

From the update from 5 -6, I was able to burn avi's at 48x with NO problem. Before couldn't do faster than 32x without problems.

And they play fine also.

goes with everything. 48x has been used for audio, video, data, and vcd/svcd conversions.

Only have made 1 coaster, but that was my fault.

I highly recommend obtaining the retail cd version. Then update to 60011, if they haven't come out with another update after 60015 to fix it.

Don't think you should have much of a problem finding the .bin/.cue of the retail or the 60011 update.

Nero 60019 is out. Was smooth sailing through 38 disc's today with the new update... everything went fine including overburns.

:matrix: Nero.

I always use Prassi Primo DVD, since Nero wouldn't produce DVD-R's that play on my standalone.

Honestly, Nero 6 sucks donkey's ass. It's bloated, full of bugs, integrates badly with autostart and doesn't introduce anything new. I'll stick to Nero 5. If it doesn't get better and I'm forced to update it, I'd rather try some different soft.

i'll agree with Polityk on this one nero 6 sucks bigtime :matrix: ....i've got it installed on one of my machines but it sure as hell won't be staying on  ...i've just been burning a few movies onto cd and after i've checked they are burn't ok i then try and delete the .avi file but somehow nero still thinks it's using it after it's been closed down and rebooted but windows will not let me delete the file until i've loaded another file into nero to release the first file...whats up with that :?

going back to nero 5 and sticking with it :P
