I think
everyone has seen it.
It looks really slick and they've poured a lot into the phone. They've been making it for so long, and the way they microsoft-style-denied it for all these years... you knew it was coming. Some good technology, but there's some nagging problems and limitations.
It looks great though.
As a replacement for an ipod, its too small @ 8GB (I'm approaching filling a 80GB Ipod).
Touch Screen phones = crap. I've hated everyone i've used, they are just terrible for dialing numbers. I'd prefer a thumbpad. Okay this is a different type of touch screen, but i've got an ipaq and its not as good as a qwerty thumbpad (best one i've used is on a sidekick 3 actually, but the cost is a big device)
There was very little shown regarding messaging. Msn on an apple? I dunno. It was distinctly absent.
Fixed battery and sim? I couldn't figure out anyway to dismantle it, ala ipod.
Widgets is good i guess, but i'm not an OS X fan, but its nix based so its not overly bad.... i bet some l33t bastards hack it to be a terminal and you'll hear "I'll just fire off this perl script to phone my wife"
Its very expensive and locked to one network thus far. We'll see. Matters what networks carry it in the uk. Doesn't seem to be G3 either?
There's a series of photos that need posting in this thread, this phone looks so cool and well made. I just have issues with some of the gaps in released info which are significant.
