Anybody know of a convenient program that will combine
two AVIs into one AVI and two SUB (SRT) files into one SUB AND
still have the whole thing sync up? I don't want to hard code
the subs (yuck) but I would like the whole movie (in this case,
the Unnamable II) in one file. Thanks!

P.S. A big thanks to Lux Delux for keepin' that movie shared. You're my
last full source!! :beerchug:

you mean merge them into one single subtitle or one single selectable subtitle? (ie like vobs) if your wanting the latter, why can't you just rename the subs:
Movie.YEAR.Source.Codec-Group.eng.srt
Movie.YEAR.Source.Codec-Group.fr.srt

or whatever, that works in any decent player, your crappy standalone I dunno, but it certainly works on pcs and the xbox :)

This would merge some subs they display at the same time in two different colours:

Nah, more like:

The.Unnamable.II.DVDRip.Dual.Audio.with.Commentary.AC3.[avatar].CD.1.avi
The.Unnamable.II.DVDRip.Dual.Audio.with.Commentary.AC3.[avatar].CD.2.avi

becomes:

The.Unnamable.II.DVDRip.avi (one giant file)

And something similar with the subtitle files. I guess I could
just leave them split, the player will just continue to the next
file /w subtitles, but there is an annoying delay between files.
It's petty I know, but if there is a good way around it, I would
do it. Thanks!

oh right, you mean join not merge? :)

Use virtualdubmod to merge your avis (load your first file, then use file>append avi to join), and i'd have thought any subtitle suite can merge subs, there'll be no overlap unless you trim, so try subtitle workshop or similar :) subtitle workshop can definitely join, its a neat package. if they are vobsubs, i think directvobsub comes with a joining tool.

Fantastic! I'll try it out when this last file finishes. Thanks so much! :beerchug:
