Hello guys,

I need your help regarding my printer. It is an HP Laserjet 1300 and connected to my PC via USB. It has its own power supply of course.

Here is the scenario I am facing:
When I start Windows (2000) I can turn the printer on and print without any problems. Everything works A-Ok.
But when I turn the printer off (to save electicity) and turn it on again I can not print anymore. Stupid windows tells me that a problem occured while it tried to print the document.

Now I keep asking myself: "Where the f*ck is the problem? There is no problem! You are the problem, you non operating sh*t of a system."

Has anyone ever experienced the same problem?
I was able to live with it for about a year now. But yesterday I decided that it has to end! Help me defeat the worst crime against PC users - windows.

before you turn it off, go to the taskbar and see if theres an icon on the right that says "safely remove hardware" This should appear if theres any removable hardware (anything that uses USB) open it highlight the printers name and click the "Stop" Button. It should then say it's safe to remove hardware. That should prevent this problem. If that doesn't work, I suggest not turning it off. :)

Good point, but it doesn't show up the list of removable hardware.
