Has anyone got this, I'd like to check it out, but the trial version is a bit pointless!

Personally I hate WMV. They don't play well on standalones and when I browse the video on my PC the image gets distorted too often.

Why not just use Encode360. I know that's not the answer, but I did look at WME assistant - but gave up when I saw the price. Some guy recommended it over at AVForums though as being quicker than Encode360.

As an aside Encode360 works very well, but damn it takes a hell of a long time to convert - upto or over 24 hours on my rig for a DTS 1080p file, but you don't lose anything and the output file plays great on a 360.

I had problems with encode360, the rips were coming out a bit shit and 720p as opposed to 1080p

WMV plays perfectly fine on XBMC, i think you meant "shit standalones" :wacky:

Obviously not 1080p, but there's no issue with the container.
