ok i downloaded a mkv but i cant burn it to a divx disc so what would you guys suggest?

MKV is a container format such as AVI. They can both contain video and audio encoded with any kind of codec.

MKV however can even contain subtitles and a lot more. You can look at it at as the new AVI container.

hey thanks i stuck on the saving the audio it says save as track2.mp3 but when i do it says no decompresser found to decompress?

What audio codec is used in the source file? You could check this with GSpot for instance.

It looks like you are missing that codec.

i got Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2008-01-24 and the lame mp3 amc but when i try to install Ogg DirectShow Filter / OggDS / OGM Codec it just shows up complete but no shortcut or anything?

I don't think you need the OGM codec here. You need the MKV codec and an audio codec for the audio VirtualDub can't decompress.

You need to find out what audio codec you are missing.

mkv doesn't have a codec since its a container, ogm is popular for anime audio which are predominantly mkv these days.
