Post subject:  Fastest DVD drives?

Does anyone know what DVD drives are the fastest at reading movie data off of DVDs? The one I have (and apparently, most) is "Riplocked" so it won't read DVD movies faster than oh, 1.5x (rated at like 16x!), which means it takes about an hour to rip a DVD9. An old DVD drive I have will read them within 15 to 20 minutes. This is with or without AnyDVD running. Unfortunately, companies don't seem to be advertising whether or not their drive is riplocked, even though apparently not all of them are. I'm looking for either a drive that's fast and not riplocked, or one that any of you have had success with flashing the firmware to get it to read DVD movies at full speed. (I tried flashing my firmware with a speed fix and only gained 0.5x).

Any ideas? Thanks!

I have an Optiarc AD-7201S and DVDDecrypter creates an ISO from a DVD within 5-10 minutes (under Linux with Wine).

Plextor drives used to have very high read/write to quality ratios.
