Out of interest Spud, in what way?
I used to use the PC as a media player, but switched to the Xbox because it was better.

I second that.
XBMP rulez :321flip:
It plays ANY file and handles subs really well!
You can adjust the audio synch on the fly so knackered avis with audio delay are no problems.
It also handles resynching subtitles, so knackered subtitles are gone as well
You tell me a PC media player that can resynch audio/subs ???
Well it's all down to preference really, but I think the Xbox media Player is the best out there !!!

Add to that hardware DTS and Dolby digital, a REMOTE CONTROL, portability. THE best tv out I've ever seen (certainly waaay better than Nvidia's), on the fly de-interlacing, and best of all ?129.99

Halo (still )
Project Gotham Racing 1 & 2
Broken Sword : Sleeping Dragon
Soul Caliber 2
GTA III & VC
Rainbow Six 3
Crimson Skies
Amped 2
There are more, but I can't think at the moment
BTW Spud, you didn't say why your PC "rips the xbox as a player"

Backyard wrestling and Celebrity deathmatch are terrible
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is only average
Most of the others are worth downloading (although I hated True crime, and I also though that Pirates of the carribean was pretty boring too)

True Crime was OK, if ya a fan of GTA.
But yes xbox games are few and far between, modding xbox's is what keeps it alive if you ask me.
The majority of games are lame, but there are some that Kick Ass :
Halo
Fist Full of Boomsticks : Evil Dead
Simpsons Racing (silly fun for half an hour!)
Odd World (For stragey/Role PLayers)
Sims (if ya aint got a PC!)
FIFA 2004
GTA 3/Vice City
To name some.

dude, I have a life
anyways because it has an ati radeon 9800 XT, tv-out with so much better video quality (what res is the xbox divx player btw, I couldn't tell. What's it say in the documentation?), Dolby Digital surround sound, 2 DVD drives to avoid damn disc swapping or waiting to copy shit to the hard drive, 0.42TB of space with hundreds of movies and tv series and networked so I can access the shit on the rest of the pc hard drives. Can play everything, regardless of bitrate, or codec.
F*ck those kiss toys too
I will crush them
It's a given that it's a better games machine though, its the samey arguement of "anything you can do I can do better" When zelda comes to the pc I'll be a happy chappy
BTW GTA on the pc is much better than the consoles versions guys, get it on that Same goes for Halo. Simpsons hit and run is better than the simpsons racing game too, not played it on a console yet though, but it has a clunky control system with the mouse and keyboard, it is quite good with my gcn pad plugged into my pc

heheh spud.. I have to agree with you! PC is a better altenative for many things. Many games like GTA, C&C, diablo AND SHOT EM UP GAMES!! etc are hell more enjoyable on PC then a console. But when it comes to have fun a couple of guys, the PC isn't enough. It's hard to play versus eachother on a pc (if you don't play multiplayer, LAN etc). For example Maria Party (i know, it's a nintendo game, and we are talking about xbox).. It's a really funny game to play 4 peepz. And good fight-em-up games are almost only avaible on consoles..
It's always fun to have the person you are playing with right besides you. "Shared fun, dubble fun" (don't know if it's a swed saying)

@PCA, sucked on the pc, and sucked even more on the xbox The only great fps shooter on a console was goldeneye. m$ I believe bought out rare, i'd force em to make another FPS. Everything else they've done since sucked
@Izac agree with ya on that one. Super Monkey Balls 2 is an ace party game

Halo's worse on the PC (unless you have an ATI 9800 Pro or better), the minimum spec is ridiculous and it just doesn't play right
BUT it looks like we agree with Super Monkey Ball
Rare are bringing out Perfect Dark Zero on xbox, It'll probably suck, but at least there's one coming.
Oh and Izak, try mame and an x-arcade / hotrod (via tv-out) if you want fighting games on the PC (or xbox for that matter)
