er u :p

I'm in no rush to try it, every other one has been really unstable, bloated and has no features that are really essential over the other mods. Maybe that RSS feed would be nice, well it would be if it wasn't built into trillian and my browser ;)

No thanks!

Me, I'll try it when I get home as it has a couple of features I've been looking forward to :)

I been using it for last day, so far so good, powershare for incomplete files is back, hooray. Also it has not crashe donce so far, using standard version, and CPU and mem usage are low. Altho TBH that was never a problem for me anyways.

All in all I would say this is the best version so far, IMO.

Not true!
V6 hasn't crashed even once on my machine and it has many useful functions.

DEFINATELY 10000000% TRUE, that's why I said it ;)
I never said it ever crashed, it's just terrible unstable CPU usage and that's a fact because it happens everytime I use it ;) The only other mod to do this is emule+. You only have to visit their forums to see this complaints posted everywhere.

Everything I posted is true because I'm talking about me... why do i care if it works on your system hehe  Don't ask me what emule+ and BH crew do to make an overclocked Athlon XP 2400+, 1GB PC3200, ATI Radeon 9800XT system reduce to a halt, but they obviously have put some duff code in somewhere :(

Ultimately, because of this these mods aren't worth it, but luckily there is ziltch in BHM that is of any benefit now that vanilla has most of it. only thing I need over vanilla is better upload handling so i go for a ZZUL based mod.

Perhaps its because I have so many downloads, I dunno, all I know is that its not very good because it doesn't run stabley.

EDIT:
Didn't see this:

What has it got? It must be something I didn't see. Looking at the changelog and feature list there's nothing every other mod doesn't have... apart from RSS, which like I explained before is useless. Using it, categories, etc. are all in vanilla.

You never said it was only about your machine. And you don't care about mine? Eat this! :eatthis:

However, in this V7 Kademlia causes HUGE overhead upload bw, much higher than in V6. I turned Kad off and everything went back to normal.

Yes i did. Who else would I be talking about? I use "I" and "my" to describe why it is unstable and has no features ;)

Besides that, why would I be talking about any other person besides myself Image This fool hardy trip beggars logic ;)

BTW, whilst on the subject of KAD, has anyone noticed any real improvement from using it? I used a few mods with it in and it was pretty much zip, all the b/w was coming from normal mules. :(

I'm not much of a fan of Kad, I think it's rather useless. My bandwidth is not higher thanks to Kad, on the contrary, I have more overhead bw now. If it was a separate network it would make more sense, but then again I'm not a fan of those shareaza-like combos...

You can always switch off eMule and leave Kad running to see if it really works.

I know what you mean. On the one hand, a combo client would be great, you can manage everything under one interface. Problem is they are always ropey and bloated with features you don't need, want or care about. I guess half the problem with mods is that they are so busy making a SMS-message system when they could and should be spending time getting the upload right as it's the basis of the client afterall.

The question remains... can you really... can you close down emule? Even if you manage to struggle and turn it off... how long before the cravings kick in... the longing to be one with the mule... to download!

I think we both know that you can't live without the mule... you are the mule!

*sinister laugh*
My prescious....

it's a emule vannila feature, not new to BHM (or at least it's in every other mod i'd used).

Basically for mapping network drives as shared folders

mmm, looks like TBHv7 has a pretty serious bug if you are a releaser.

The number of full sources is being misreported as 108 for my release of Eaten Alive, and I now can't set it to Release priority as there are (allegedly) too many full sources :(
I need to have another look at this, but it looks like it's back to v6PE for me.

Yeah, I'm going back to v6 too. :(

The auto powershare feature is good, but it seems to switch off far too quickly (like after a couple of hours). Also I'm finding that eMule crashes frequently if I minimise the window of another app running at the same time.

Add to that a report of 30-40% CPU useage and I'm not a fan of v7.

v6 was much nicer and I can decide when the powershare gets switched off.

Also, what's the point of the Permission=hidden for files? I thought it might be a feature to unshare stuff you don't want to up, but when I set a file to hidden, people still get queue slots for it. :?
