I've got a Supercard and it's great, picked it up from ebay for ~?30
m6 is WAY too expensive, the only other sensible option is the m3 perfect, which is more expensive, but the gameboy compatibility is better

Right well PC_Arcade's approval will do me
Will keep an eye on ebay and grab the next one that comes along.
From reading the website though, will I need to buy that passkey thing for it to play DS romz or is their a firmware update that does that?
It's a bit misleading

Depends - You need to put a hacked firmware on the DS or use the passkey.
If you have an older (silver) DS, you can use a cheap wireless network card and hacked drivers to install flashme (the hacked firmware), otherwise use the passme to install flashme, you can then sell the passme as you won't need it again (Spud's sister might need it soon apparently)
Flashme tutorial : http://www.ds-dev.com/dsfirmware/
WifiME tutorial : http://www.aaronrogers.com/nintendods/wifime.php
That should make it a little clearer, you can always ask me if you need help though

Ah right cool.
Re-searched ebay and have ordered a supercard for ?32
Have read those two links and could do the hacked firmware thing.....but how do I know my DS is old enough?
It's silver and only codes on back I can see are NTR-001 & NEM10295486.
I have the wireless setup to flash the homebrew firmware but don't want to f*ck up my DS

The wireless setup you already have is all you need, you just send over flashmeV6.nds (or whatever the file is called) and you're good to go

Well I'll be giving it a crack tomorrow then on my day off
One final (hopefully) question, what the hell is all this about :
Do I have to remove the battery cover and insert a screw in that hole for the firmware to work?
I might be having a bit of a stoopid day today, but all this DS stuff is coming across as a bit confusing

No, the hole is in the battery compartment, just remove the sticker and put a small screwdriver in the hole

I got my Supercard the other day too, it's really good, not had too many problems so far.
I used Passme2 to flash my DS, I was shitting myself when it got stuck on 8% and didn't seem to be flashing any more, but then i rolled up a bit of tin foil and stuck it in the hole and away it went, so I recommend a bit of tinfoil for shorting the contact
Oh yeah you do have to remove the battery cover to get to that hole, but you don't need to take the whole back off, just the battery cover. And make sure you don't knock the battery out mid-flash, and that you have lots of battery power, just in case you get stuck at 8% or something like me.

I got a Supercard and 1gb SD for ?30 each for my kids birthday last week, really fun machine.Spent a good few hours yesterday playing resident evil ds,heaps of fun love the use of the mic to give the kiss of life to people. And Mario Kart DS is nothing short of stunning the only handheld game to make Gamespots all formats game of the year finals at xmas, and rightly so.
Also loads of interesting homebrew items around now like heretic and doom ds and lucasarts scummvm emus.Hopefully more games will come soon as since xmas its been slow metroid is the biggie I'm looking forward too.
I recommend this software too Offlinelist shows when and pictures of all roms released
Software Offlinelist 0.7.1c = http://offlinelist.free.fr/index.php?page=download.html

I got my kids DS at xmas I choose a 2nd hand unit from Game Station it was only ?60 including Metriod Demo which works well in the flashme cart it was at the time the only way I knew I was 100% certain I could use roms & homebrew software as newer color ds's couldnt.(if you do buy 2nd hand make sure you see the unit as unless users use screen protectors the screens become worn)
My kid allready had a gba flashcard so all I bought at the time was a passme chip (which slots in the DS gameslot with an original game) and a few screen protectors and stylus pens which only came to about ?10,from a US site which Ive forgot the name of.
http://www.cheapmod.net/ccp51/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi ?32.95 (Incl. VAT) is where I went for the Supercard (slots in the gba ds slot),then I got the 1gb SD card itself from Amazon for ?28.
All in all the whole set-up cost around the ?130 mark. Not bad seeing as of now its 100% working with all roms.
Dont get me wrong the PSP is the better of the two machines power wise but still very costly you'd have to put a good ?100 on the fullDS's ?130 for a similar all in one kit for the PSP and sadly as of yet rom hacking isnt going too well with it.

Well I've been trying off and on to flash my DS - with no success
Everything is working OK with the WiFiMe setup except the final stage.
After sending the flashme.nds file to my DS it just goes to a blank screen and hangs there, the bottom screen stays white and the top screen just has a garbled up nintendo logo.
No idea why it isn't working, the hacked drivers are fine and the DS detects the flash file when I click downloadplay and my PC sends it across OK, it's after that that when the problem starts.
I think I might have to purchase a SuperPass 2

Which version of flashme are you uploading?
Have you done the part where you bridge the pins?
Do demos play OK via wifime?

I'm not sure which version of the flashme it is it's just flashme.nds from the site you posted earlier :
http://www.ds-dev.com/dsfirmware/
I googled for an actual flashmev6.nds but that did the exact same thing
Demos load perfect everytime (Polarium Demo and Meteos Demo)
I tried bridging pins before flashing, after and during but same outcome..... you think the problem lies with bridging the pins?
As everything else works fine.
I found this site and they say that when you flash the nds file it should then prompt you to type a button configuration and then to bridge the pin.....but I never get that far.

It will, but you'll need a superpass 2 as well

erm, if that's directed at my comments, this is a seperate thing, I was just wondering how people networked their GBA:SP because mine won't connect to a WEP network because I suspect its because i'm using key 4 or 5 (I forget) instead of 1. My brother's PSP doesn't seem to care and i think brute forces its way through all the keys until it finds one it connects on.
