Cool 8)

Lets hope it's the end of oversized rips also.

But I suspect that could be codec related.

Will use this for next rip - Thanks PC_Arcade!

Could you be more certain i.e. tell me EXACTLY what causes it

:P

Both maccie and myself are having similar issues, and I've tried almost every codec version etc.

I think I need to find the most stable build of XviD and erase EVERYTHING frm my machine and fresh install :?

Otherwise it's DIVX 5/311 for me - BOO HOO HOO!!!

try re-encoding the audio seperately, then muxing it with nandub. I've reduced oversized rips down to fit on a single cd that way.

As far as I'm aware, it only started happening with Xvid 1.0.

Yeah I think it's 1.0, as that was when the problem started but something must be left over in my stsem when I put < 1.0 back on becuase problem persists.

I'll try ripping without the MUX/ENCODE AUDIO option

hmmm the tutorials seem very simple to me, only problems I have it codecs and having to reinstall it.

The guide itself is an exact "do this"... your using the doom9 guide right?

I've used autoGK andit seems to be the best auto/1 click solution so stick with that for as long as you can.

Like Spud says GK gives you free regein and if you follow doom9's guide to the letter you'll get a quality rip and then just save those settings and reload

Thats all I did. It is better having the more options for ripping that GK gives ya

I have a bit of trouble following what isn't well explained... you just do what it says. once you got the sequence memorised, you then have free reign over all settings and ability to edit the avs script.

The oversized rips were caused by xvid 1 (by the way GK tried to handle it, to be specific), I've been waiting for them to fix it too. It was very soon fixed in AutoGK, But not in the regular GK suite. It had something to do with wrong overhead calculation if that's the same thing you're talking about.
