That is a very good description of mail in rebates..... and why companys use them....
Me.. the second I get home with my new item that has one I check to make sure it works properly and then I make sure I get that rebate mailed out either that day.. or the next day (depending on whether my mail has already came or not)
I always like getting those checks back in the mail 2 months down the road after I've forgotten about them being mailed out... the cash usually is usefull then.. or moreso than when I bought the item
