Wow, nice post. I have never heard of this method before, i only knew about chipmodding. If it's really that easy to mod an Xbox, i might go and buy one. I still need a standalone divx player anyways... Is this possible with any Xbox or is the bug fixed on new ones? Also, are there any DISadvantages to modding the Xbox, except the fact you can't play on Xbox live?

Sorry, I should have clarified that, this will work on ANY Xbox

There's no disadvantage to modding the Xbox, but many many ADvantages.
In fact nowadays there's not real disadvantage to softmodding the Xbox either

Hmm, i was already thinking about getting one and chipmod it but now i know about this, i guess i'll buy one for sure. How hard is it to screw up in the middle of the modding process and destroying your whole Xbox btw? I'm not a-technical or anything but just totally new to this stuff. Only thing i did and saw on an Xbox is super mario sunshine at a cousins place about two years ago i think...

Pretty tough to screw up, and pretty much everything can be recovered from one way or another.

Super mario sunshine would be the gamecube though ;)

Thanks again for the awesome guide PC_Arcade :D

Like MCMLXXXVIII I can't see any sources for any of the files you posted except for FlashFXP which has downloaded. I clicked them minutes after seeing your original post too.

Also from your picture above I have the Samsung drive, is this a good or bad one? Cheers

The reason they have no sources is that my mule is currently not sharing, they will have a full source at ~5:30 pm this evening, and if anyone can help share, PM me :)

Apologies for the delay, but I will rectify ASAP

one of those 3, or MAYBE, one of the new Hitachi drives.
Philips drives have, on recent xbox's got MUCH better and are almost as good as the Samsungs apparently

I see you now PC_Arcade thanks, and I'm sitting at QR:1 for the first file, been like that for nearly a couple of hours though :o

I'm not d/loading anything else on emule at the moment so I can upload this exclusively if that helps at all - I've got crappy upload speed though, but for such small files it shouldn't matter much.

Nic is 'HHAH killingjokezzz' - but I don't understand why I'm sat at QR:1 for so long without downloading anything. Also there is an asterix against 'On Queue' under the status column against you - I don't recall seeing that before. :? I'm just using vanilla emule with ed2k and Kad connected.
