Thanks MCMLXXXVIII.

One more thing, If anyone follows this guide , can I get some feedback on the tutorial, eg. part xxx was wrong / unclear, or whatever, so as it can be corrected.

I'm looking to make this pretty definitive and will keep it up to date as and when changes need to be made.

I'm happy to answer any problems / questions you have by pm/msn/irc, just let me know.

I've just checked the SC and 007 versions of the save and I've run across a problem, bear with me and I'll have fixed versions up ASAP.

MA works perfectly though

Oh, hehe, so that's the thing with my save not working. I've sent you a PM about it but forget it now. Can you give me a fix for splinter cell then?
Would be great if you could!

I based all the saves from the MA one and I stupidly forgot that the paths change for the others

Also the problem was compounded slightly by SC using a 2 saves and a different set of filenames.

It was my fault, I should have tested them all before I posted, instead of solely testing the MA one

Something went a bit wrong when we tried the method with SC, it took me and PCA about 10 hours but it works now. Thanks mate! :beerchug:

LOL :)
Can I just point out that that was with another game save as the one originally posted here didn't work, unfortunately the other save wiped parts of the hard drive :(

The save has since been fixed and should work with no problems.

PC_Arcade, I'm going to use the 007 AUF one - I feel assured it is OK now too. Is it fixed too??? :beerchug:

*EDIT* - Just checked the dates in those zips, the MA and SC ones are dated 16/02/2005 - the 007 one seems unchanged at 15/01/2005?!??!

It should be, The prblem wasn't with the save here, which will either work or do NOTHING.

The problem was using another (untested) save which did A LOT of damage and didn't backup, the saves here automatically backup before changing anything so there is no danger of the problems that D. had occuring with these saves.

re-sent.

There's an easy way to tell, the old saves (excepting) MA had two .xbe files (default ni the case of 007 or install in the case of SC and Ltools) the new ones only have Default.xbe or install.xbe

I've checked my hashes and the ones in this post are good :)

When I get confirmation that the new saves work, I'm going to spit this post to keep the main post cleaner (and a vague attempt to hide my initial screw-up)

Hi everyone, could you please reshare the 'saves' and I only see D. is the only source on 'softmod add on'.

@PC arcade: thx for the pm reply and the brilliant and clear tut, is this mod suitable for UK Pal with K:5838, D:5659?
one thing I am not fully follow is :
Quote:
Having made your selections the xbox will now load linux, make a backup of your C: drive and your eeprom (VERY important) and install the exploits, this will take ~2:30 minutes, when the "All done your xbox can now be switched off" message appears, turn the xbox off
(1.6 owners will have a corrupted diplay during this process, keep your eye on the LED round the eject button, when it turns from orange (during the install process) to blinking green the xbox is safe to turn off and it should be)

how do i backup the xbox C drive and eeprom while i'm loading linux, doest it give me an option to backup the C drive at this stage?

thx

Hi nanjo,

I've got all 4 files - SC, MA, 007 and the Softmod addon on exclusive share on my emule. I can't think why you can't see me.

PC_Arcade did change the hashes of the save files yesterday too, you might want to check you are downloading the correct ones now. I'll restart my mule, see if that helps you. Will kad connect as well.

:EDIT: Reconnected - now sat on Razorback 2

The Xbox will do it automatically as posted above, I'll clarify that :)

And yes, this work with any version XBOX, NTSC or PAL 1.0-1.6

PLEASE can I get a volunteer to test the 007 and SC saves, I can't do it as I don't have the original games to try and they work fine on a chipped xbox, but I need to check with the originals.

The tutorial works 100% with MA and I'm 99% sure SC will work, it's really just the 007 save I'm not convinced with, please don't make me BUY them
