Looks like they have:

oh, i knew about bluray regions; hd-dvd is supposed to have them but i don't think anyones bothered implementing it. I was meaning PS3 software. The ps2 and 1 eu stuff isn't a surprise, if ps3 software is region locked... any info on that?

I'm still banking on Sony going bankrupt in the next 20 years  They have no divisions making a profit and they are making some seriously questionable decisions :?

Doesn't appear to be anyone connected to either Sony or Walmart (which is what the site is supposed to be - a Walmart PS3 training site).

Foreigners and Fights - Japan's PS3 Launch

Japan's national launch was 80,000 units of PS3, many of them bought by poverty stricken chinese, paid to stand in line by Japanese businessmen wanting to make a fast buck by sticking them on online auctions.

Just as Sony would've wanted.

"I witnessed a homeless-looking Chinese man, in his sixties or seventies get paid 20,000 yen for his services and was then sent away."

20,000 yen ~ $170. Hey, for whom can I stand in line for a while?

PS3 line hit by drive-by BB shooting

Quote:
PS3 line hit by drive-by BB shooting
Kentucky TV station says four people hit by pellets; no serious injures reported.
By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot
Posted Nov 16, 2006 12:17 pm PT

Those who camp out for system launches know ahead of time that they'll have to endure a number of hardships to walk away with a new game console on day one, but being shot probably isn't among them.

A drive-by BB gun shooting hit four people at a Best Buy store in Lexington, Kentucky, last night according to reports from the local CBS affiliate, WKYT. Three of the people hit were camped out in line to buy a PlayStation 3 when it goes on sale Friday morning, while the fourth was a WKYT reporter covering the line for a story.

Two of those hit reportedly packed up and left the line, saying "a PlayStation 3 simply isn't worth it." The third customer remained in line, telling WKYT "I'd do it again, even if I get shot again."

A representative with the Lexington Police Department told GameSpot the shooting happened about 8 p.m., with nobody requiring medical attention, and none of the people hit by the BBs filing a police report. While the police are keeping an eye on the line, he said there have been no more incidents at the Best Buy, and no reports of lines from any other retailers in the area.

Must have been angry Zelda freaks who didn't want to wait in line

lol, was probably pissed off sony fans when they found out they'd shipped four PS3s to the states and you had to buy a $2000 tv just for the right to reserve one

That was harsh, you read about that? Retailers are having a feild day with their wacky clauses by the sounds of it.

Spud see's a PS3

/me walks into CEX in Leeds where he notices they have a PS3.
/me walks up to the display and see's a person playing a game

Spud: [To assistant] Is that a PS3 game?
Assistant: [laughs] Yeah... doesn't look like it does it
Spud: No [frowns].... no it doesn't

/me leaves the store after asking if they have any second hand xbox one's

If i'd have hung around i could have had a go but honestly, it looked like ass and seemed to be just another racing game. Might have been Need For Speed Carbon but it looked worse than the Need For Speed Carbon i'd seen on the xbox360... it was messed up :?

Just to follow on from that meh-fest, just spotted this which probably sums up why:

*lol, 2 games... awesome :wacky:

I think that its pretty clear that its not really that big a deal if you've not got a PS3 at this stage, at the price, effort and then the games that are out, I can't imagine even Geezus is going to go to any extreme lengths to acquire one now. Its pretty clear its not worth your effort, not if sony isn't going to treat you right.

PS3 in being a pirate's best friend shock

Quote:
Blu-Ray Already Ripped on PS3
The troubles with Linux begin.
by Hilary Goldstein

December 1, 2006 - As soon as we installed Linux on our office PS3, it was clear that trouble would be brewing quickly. We began taking bets on how soon someone would hack the PS3. While we haven't heard of anyone truly cracking the PS3 software yet, thanks to Linux, Blu-Ray movies are now being ripped onto the PS3 hard drive.

Multiple sites, including PVRWire, are reporting on gamers illegally copying movies to the PS3 hard drive. Once the large file is on the hard drive, it's possible that someone could figure out a way to burn them.

It only took a few days, but already the Linux PS3 has enabled piracy. As the months continue, users are certain to find other ways to exploit Sony's new console. The fault lies with those committing the crime as the majority of those who download Terra Soft's Yellow Dog Linux v5.0 are likely doing so legitimately.

Love to hear some feedback on this one

I honestly thought the hardware would be as buggy and awkward as the PS2 to work with, and be propreitried up to greek buggery.
How did they get linux on?

Its good news for gamers, and disasterous for sony, but its still way, way too expensive for me at the moment (read: i'm not paying that much for that little, rather than i can't afford that much  )

Possible delay of PS3 to September in PAL territories
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3155924
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... 2&skip=yes

Quote:
Sony's head of Worldwide Studios Phil Harrison recently told Official PlayStation Magazine that he wouldn't like to make any definitive statements about the March rollout for PS3.

Sony quickly followed that up with a statement re-confirming PS3 is on track for March 2007 across Europe. But speculation of a further delay just won't go away.

High placed sources within the industry have already been tipping April as a more realistic launch window the for console. But a source has told CVG that a PS3 delay as far back as September 2007 is now far more likely, pointing the finger of delay at - yes you guessed it - "component shortages". And let's face it, you don't launch a console in summer.

Advertisement:
When contacted this morning a Sony UK spokesperson told CVG that "We're 100 percent on track for a March release".

Sony's Euro boss added, "We're still on schedule to launch PS3 in March, throughout the PAL territories... and all speculation otherwise, is without foundation".

There's a denial:
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=21699

but this is the guy that said the PS3 would be out in November 2005, then definitely November 2006 just before they delayed the ps3 to march

Same advice from me, don't buy at launch, even if that's a year away!

from the Motorstorm .nfo :)

Looks like the ps3 might have been compromised too. If it's true it's a GREAT day for the anti-DRM crowd (or Customers as they used to be known)
