erm, raid only work on the same raid controller most of the time don't they? That's what all those serial key things are, and all the headers for the drives refer to it.

OK, my memory died (I don't think it's EVER been right!) So crucial replaced it (again).

Good news now though, I've finally been able to try the overclock I promised myslef i'd do and it's pretty nice!

On stock cooling I'm now getting a seemingly stable 2400Mhz out of the X64x2 3800+, making it the same as the 4600+ at MUCH less than half the price - Memory is running 1:1 and the machine just feels FAST now!
I'll try and encode a movie later to check stability, but WoW, 3d Mark 06 and HL2 : Lost Coast have all worked fine so far.

I'm going to pick up a better cooler (Any suggestions?) and see if I can get up to 2500Mhz!

OK, time to resurrect this old thread as it's that time of year again almost, this time I'm looking at :

CPU : Intel q6600
Motherboard : Asus P5N32-E SLI NF680i
Memory : 2Gb Corsair XMS 2 800mhz

Should be able to overclock to ~3gz+ using the Thermalright Ultra-120 which should be enough performace for another year or so (hopefully more, but you never know!)
Then the "old" x2-3800+ can be rebuilt as a HTPC or as an upgrade to the arcade machine :beerchug:

The q6600 is due a substantial price drop (almost 50%) in July, so that's the time frame I'll be looking to pick this all up, trying to spend as little as possible and get the best results, anyone have any opinions?
