I don't get it, I really don't get it.

Hills Have Eyes I kind of got, Halloween remake just seems like a case of $$$ + known brand + plus known kids brand director.

Maybe i'll be wrong, and there won't be any slow motion in it. :wacky:

movies like 300 make you understand that if you were the flash, you'd be REALLY pissed off all of the time.

Imagine, your brain works at an ultra high speed, and yet you have to wander around at the speed of every day humans... its like watching 300!

I can't believe all of the hate for this movie. It's seems like people are bitching about it for the sake of bitching. Sure, it's not amazing like the original, but I thought it was pretty good.

The biggest problem was how it jumped around so much and how fast everything went by. In the third act, you barely get introduced to the girls before they're getting killed. That works fine in other slasher movies, but not Halloween. Zombie needed more in each act. An extra 30 or so minutes overall would have done wonders for this movie.

Another little problem was how Zombie made him the typical serial killer. It definitely took away from the unknown evil from the original, but it still worked enough and Mike still seemed evil enough for me.

The third act was definitely the best part of the movie IMO. You get to see Mike be brutal and relentless and I loved it. The chase/stalking scenes were very intense and had me loving every second of it. I thought Scout and Danielle did great jobs. They made me feel like they were terrified and that really added to the movie. The ending was also awesome. It reminded me a lot of the original TCM ending.

Overall, I really liked it. Sure, it has problems, but they're not nearly as bad as most have made them out to be. I give it a 3.5/5.

Sure, nothing beats the original.

Yeah, I agree. We don't know anything about character introduction in this movie, not even for a Laurie. Most of the movie is spinning around Michael. It think that was kind a cool for another movie (khmm, The UGLY!?) but it should not be fact with Halloween movie. The scariest thing about original Michael Myers is that WE DONT know anything about him. (ok, some details were shown in sequels, but that sux)

Yeah he did, but that wasn't a Michael, it was JASON, which piss me off. Im starting to think that Hollywood is trying to kill all horror legends and turn them into 2m walking lumbering stunt hulk. Look what they did to poor Leatherface! (every true fan knows that Leatherface wasn't evil, he only did what his family told him to do)

Dunno I hate that scene. Gore and brutality doesn't make a movie. Rob Zombie used some terrible camera skills there and he shaked that camera so damn hard that you could not see what's going on the screen.

And I didn't like the ending, they make Michael look like shit.

My opinion: 2/5 ... it was just a big insult to original and I just thought that it couldn't go worst then Resurrection. I mean BUSTA RHYMES!?

Although i haven't yet seen halloween and have a very low anticipation for seeing the movie, I do not hold his movies in as high regard as they seem to be held.

Like most modern director's I think he'd really benefit from a 3 year course in classic photography and the confidence to interpret someone else's script. That's based on House and Rejects anyway.

Going to catch the movie on DVD though :)

U thought that House was an awesome horror movie. I really had high hopes for Zombie. Rejects dashed those hopes. That movie proved to me that it takes Rob about 2 years of post production to make a great movie. Anything less, and its not even mediocre. Still, to say that with 2 years to fiddle with a movie, he will make it better, is a compliment.

I had fun watching 1000 corpses, although it was very, very predictable.

About rip-offs: everything has already been done, it's like in music, where bands accuse each other of stealing riffs or samples or melodies. So actually the term rip-off is obsolete.

I liked House of 1000 Corpses...wasnt the intent a 'rip-off' homage to its predecessors anyway?

Halloween wasnt as bad as I figured it was gonna be. you gotta go into these as though the original was your fave song and this is just a remix, anothers interpretation of a wicked story. but for those of you that hated the ending (which I loved), I watched the workprint and holy crap it's different. way diff ending, different fate of Loomis, even the breakout scene was different involving a brutal rape scene
