Nekromantik (the first one), was pretty shocking the first time we watched it!

It's the only film in recent memory I stopped to take a break from the sheer.......um.......tawdryness? of the whole thing.

That's not quite the right word, but it was still pretty hard going, great film though, recommended by me

Salem's Lot (1979) scared the shit out of me when I was a kid...and the autopsy scenes in the Faces Of Death series were quite disturbing back then. Nekromantik 1+2 at Filmfestival Rotterdam 1993...shocking/fascinating...some people actually left the cinema during the movie.

Nekromantik is a film I have on crappy VHS pirate stylee. A most interesting tale indeed. I watched in 1 sitting, my friends did not.

How did you like it? It's not a gory movie whatsoever, but the tension is there throughout the film and there are some scary moments. Although it might not be one's thing at all, and I can imagine that some people think this film sucks.

Nekromantik II almost made me sick but I was drunk and the alcohol probably had an effect but the film is disgusting. I didnt make it through that film but I will watch it again except not while I'm drunk.

In a Glass Cage is an excellent film and intense at times. Cannibal was pretty sickening too.

Scat and hardcore sex torture, etc. and the rest of that trash is a different catagory (I dont watch any of it) and shouldn't even be grouped with actual films. They are just cheap shock vids.

I would have to say any movie that has a lot of rape in them.
( LIKE THE Lifetime network )
Who does a director work that one out? " ok, quite on the set. Ok Kim set?
John? OK now rape her!" Sick if you ask me.

Cannibal Holocaust is up there for sure just because of the animal scenes.

But, I think Niku Daruma (Psycho the Snuff Reels) is the most disturbing. Theres one scene that made me sick to my stomach.

I like seeing people mentioning Man Bites Dog (C'est arrivé près de chez vous), because it's one of my favorites. I don't think it's very disturbing, though. It's overly fake on the killing parts and the rest of the film is so cynically funny, I can't see it as disturbing.

As for Wolf Creek: I thought that was one of the lamest horror movies I've ever seen. What do you guys like so much about it?

Nekromantik 1 and 2, which I ordered direct for a mere $14.99 each (while major retailers were selling them for $35+) have always had a lasting impression.

Cannibal Ferox follows as it was my first mondo film. House by the Cemetery was the 1st horror I ever saw back when it was a new release and my babysitter thought it would be funny to have me watch it.

but the one movie that makes me squirm and feel downright dirty is Schramm. ugghhh

oh and puke scenes dont usually bother me anymore, but then I saw Taxidermia, a Hungarian film from last year....WAY too much

Bah, I watched Alone in the Dark from the beginning to the very end. Even Squirmfests were easy after that.

Slaughtered vomit dolls for me. It was really fucked up, with some really disturbing scene. Really, movies don't disturb me that much, but fake snuffs do. Stuff like Guinea Pig : Flower of flesh and blood and August Underground are just... sick.

I love the guinea pigs movies tho, but as for stuff like August Underground... I find it's just too much.

Nekromantik got me. Black Christmas got me when I was young.

Redsin Tower had a pretty intense/disturbing "demonic possession" part.

I dig it.

Irreversible made me a touch twitchy...

....and the "bite the kerb" scene from American History X is always good for that uncomfortable feeling....

...which doesnt diminish no matter how many times I see it..
