Henry rules hard. Paradise lost is a good documentary about kid killers. Really interesting but pretty sick.

Schramm is good. Also I like the The Hillside Strangler with C Thomas Howell and John Tuturro.

Well, I'm not sure if this counts (as it is more of a spree-killing)
but Badlands with Martin Sheen is good. Check out the IMDB link:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069762/

Enjoy!

Another great serial killer type movie featuring his son, Charlie Sheen, is The Boys Next Door.

Zodiac is a good film, about a serial killer investigation. The Fincher zodiac (see the non-horror section).

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer was excellent

Fictional:
Se7en
C'est arrivé près de chez vous (aka. Man Bites Dog)
American Psycho
Psycho come to think of it

Only one of those is from the serial killer's point of view mind.
