Jennifer Aniston in hotpants, mmmmm :)

I laughed myself off the chair when he crashed his bike & left a leprechaun shaped hole in the fence. Good film. Don't watch the sequels, they are really bad 8)

I watched Children of the Corn II.

Worse than number 1, but like Leprechaun, a classic.

yesterday i watched more south park (i put them on a loop you see, on my xbox since it supports recursive playing and random playlists).

however, i watched Micahael Moore's new documentary Sicko on Sunday night and I 'enjoyed' it in so far that you enjoy something on such a shameful subject. It was lightly informative, anacdotel and had the usual effective irony he loves to do (ie. going to guantanamo bay for free health care, or returning the bullets inside someone to walmart). Its quite weird watching how the us is essentially a third world country in terms of health care (a lack of a universal free health care pretty much qualifies a country as 'third world' if you ask me, in so far that in the vast majority of major industrialised and civil advanced/rich nations its unthinkable to refuse healthcare to the sick). But i don't want to get into the politics. I don't understand why people hate Michael Moore, he uses a lot of humour and irony, but then he's doing that to be humerous and ironic about a serious subject. Anyway...

I watched lifeforce at the weekend, i've never managed to get all the way through before and i realise i've seen bits of it thinking they were different movies. It feels like 3 different movies watching it, the space bit (cheap ass, should have been better and longer), the stalking / earth sequences (came off as bad cronenberg/thriller/whatever) and the apocalypse scenes (by far the best bit of the movie, although inherantly silly). Tobe is a bit of mystery to me as a director, Texas is brilliant, but i think there's validity to the claim speilberg directed significant portions of poltergeist when you look at tobe's other movies. So anyway, made it through it all the way. Doesn't quite hold together as a movie if you ask me. Had jean-luc picard of the starship university of huddersfield though, that's always good... welll nearly always good... sometimes

+ from scifi last thursday:

I saw 28 weeks later and enjoyed it, it was pretty good. The opening sequence was excellent, really excellent. Well shot, brilliant cinematography and tone.

However, I couldn't help but sense it lost it a bit with the nato/yanky control territory and there was a prolonged period of silliness, before some more enjoyment came.

If it would have been able to sustain the beginning of the movie, and I think it could have done by not having all the american/nato crap and done a survival thing instead.

i'll leave it at that to avoid spoilers, I think it could have been a lot better and if it would have sustained the excellent opening tone and scenes it would have been a truely great horror film. It didn't though, which is a crying shame.

At least it had the happy ending. :wacky: :googley:

I viewed Until Death, the latest Van Damme.

A nice little moody thriller overall, probably Van Damme's recent best, but maybe not because of his performance which was better than usual but still hardly oscar-worthy. 6/10. :)

I watched 2 movies today so far.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
I really liked this one! Had alot of cool stuff but really didnt properly pick off were the 1st one ended. I liked the chainsaw fights :D I would give it a 8/10

Monkey Shines
This one I didn't like that much. It was really slow moving and boring. I was expecting a tom savini blood fest :( 4/10

'Plane Dead' (now apparently called 'Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane' so it references 2 other movies), a fun Zombie romp with good FX for a low-budgeter, some inventive gore scenes and a satisfying ending.

Resurrection, with Christopher Lambert as a detective who has to catch a serial killer. This serial killer is planning to re-create Christ (hence the title). Although some of the scenes were very bloody, this film is a total Se7en rip-off. If you haven't watched either of them, watch Se7en and forget about this one.

Tales From the Hood - entertaining, even quite powerful in places. 7/10.

A nice feel for the macabre like those great British portmanteau movies of the 60s / 70s, but updated for the 90s with themes of race, revenge and redemption.

Kairo tonight - needed close attention and very slow but rewards with some sustained creepy scenes, and I loved the sad, apocalyptic finale. 7/10.

Poltergeist.

I wasn't expecting any gore and still got some. Nice! The monster was cool enough and the film interested me until the end.

8/10

The scene with the maggoty meat and the subsequent face clawing freaked me out when I saw it on TV.
