Poor White Trash 2 - I was a bit disappointed by this one, I had expected more comedy, I think. It had a tad of horror, but nothing too much. The redneck family gets portrayed really well (and very well based on cliche prejudice, imo), there is some tension, the city girl plays her part well enough. Nothing very special, mildly enjoyable.

The Haunting Of Sorority Row - I was expecting some stupid teenage drama with a bit of horror, but this was much better. Not only are almost all sorority babes and the girls wanting to be one very tasty, but the ghost thing is well done too. After a quick killing in the beginning, the rest of the film is used to build up tension, make the viewer a bit uneasy by giving obvious hints, and then it is "Who's next?" until the end. The ending itself with the ghost was predictable, and the scene thereafter was pretty stupid, but all in all this was quite good. And I like Leighton Meester, she was doing good again. Recommended.

Alien Space Avenger - somehow I'm a sucker for 80s movies. Whenever I watch them, they make me feel good. So everytime I watch two or three movies, I should end with an 80s movie. This time wasn't an exception. Alien Space Avenger is a blast: funny, a bit gory in the beginning, the music rocks, etc. The story is very liche, but it gets played out in an original way. Four alien terrorists escape, an agent is pursuing them, they land on earth in the 1930s, then enter a time capsule and come out in the 1980s (yay!!). From then on they seek to escape the planet so they kill a lot of people to get plutonium for their ship. In the meantime they are hunted by the agent, and by a comic book writer. The comic is called Space Avenger. Recommended!

End of the Line - because some users (perkin, Matool) told me this was far superior to Midnight Meat Train, I downloaded this and watched it last night. I'm happy I did so, this was indeed a good movie. Of course there are some flaws, but I enjoyed watching this flick and I think it's a keeper. The atmosphere was kind of creepy, the religious freaks are, well, freaky and I liked the way the different persons were followed throughout the film. The ending, well, this is a difficult one. I think I see what the makers intended to do, but I also think they failed, because it was too sudden, too short-lived. Also, this was an easy way out of the storyline. Nevertheless, a pretty good horrorfilm. Recommended!

Curse III - Blood Sacrifice - I sat down and expected total BS on the level of VN's from the beginning of the 80s. On that part, I was pleasantly surprised: it was a tad better than I expected. Only a tad, though: there was also some stupid stuff, like the fact the leading lady repeats "America, America" to herself when she is in trouble. You see yourself doing that? "Germany, Germany", or "Denmark, Denmark". Sounds weird, huh? The supernatural stuff doesn't get worked out well: at first you think it's a spirit, then you think it's the witchdoctor and then he burns and then it turns out to be a spirit (monster) anyway. It looked like Creature of the Black Lagoon, btw. Weird film, with the doctor being played by Christopher Lee.

War of the Dead - there are so many zombie movies which are totally bad (shot on handycam, actors are friends from the director, etc) I was a bit afraid this might be one of those. Luckily, it was not. The storyline is totally incredible, even more than your usual zombie film. Not only are the zombies walking dead, they also travelled from Normandy to the US! Why Normandy, well, they are German soldiers who fought there and now come back to get revenge on their American killers. For some reason, there are only 3 of them (while in the flashback, there are 4) and they have two opponents, the local police officer and a special agent from the agency of vampires an zombies (right...). When ignoring the storyline, this movie is quite nice, it's right inbetween the good and the bad zombieflicks.

Flying Saucers Over Hollywood - The Plan 9 Companion - long documentary about Ed Wood and his most famous picture, Plan 9 from Outer Space. Funny interviews with actors, producers, fans and other people who have something to do with Plan 9. I leanred more about Ed Wood, and although this documentary sometimes seems to try to make Ed Wood more than he actually was, they also portray his decline and everything. If you like Ed Wood, watch this.

Joe D'Amato Totally Uncut - I have three rips of Totally Uncut, one of which I made myself. This one is the longest, but also the least quality, with very irritating subs which pass through the bottom of the screen from right to left. Because this was not deinterlaced, the subs are sometimes unreadable. This version oif Totally Uncut deals with the entire career of Joe D'Amato (or, Aristide Massacesi), and they focus mainly on his softcore erotic cinema, and that's because 90% of his films were of this genre, as they say. D'Amato is a nice guy and the interviews are not beating around the bush: he openly admits he stole a lot of ideas from others and made a lot of movies just by patching up stock footage. I really liked that about his documentary. He also explained how he got into porn and then quit it and then had to go into it gain, etc. I hope the other Totally Uncuts are not the same and focus a bit more on other aspects instead of mostly on porn and erotic cinema.

Ator the Fighting Eagle - part 1 of the Ator series directed by D'Amato. I had already seen part IV (or III) and thi one is almost the same, or the other way around. A nice sidestory was with the Amazon tribe, I liked that part. Overall it was not super interesting, but just fun to watch.

The Crypt - gtraverobbers go into crypt where they meet demons. So, now you know what this movie is about. This reminded me of the Descent, mostly because of the almost all female cast and the fact that they are in an underground labyrinth with supernatural beings. It was not a very intersting movie, but also not bad. I liked the fact that 20% of the movie is spent on the period just after the climax: most horror movies don't even go there. The demons were OK but could have been much more spectacular. The acting is so-so. Watch this if you have spare time, but if you don't like it, don't blame me.

Evil Bong 2 King Bong - actually a bit better than Evil Bong, at least I enjoyed it a bit more (maybe because I got used to the characters and their particular form of humour). Some of it plays it in someone's backyard posing as South American jungle. What struck me is that the bigger bong is easier to destroy, which was a letdown, but the scientist looked very sexy.

Justice League of America - hilarious stuff about a group of "unlikely superheroes" fighting against an evil weatherman. Yes, a weatherman. The sfx are super, they look like they were made on a Commodore 64. The interviews inbetween the scenes are very funny (and luckily, those were intended to too). Recommenden for a laugh.

Die Zombiejaeger (aka Zombienoid) - mmm, well, some German zombiehunters need to liberate Goteborg from zombies. What follows is a dose of dry German humour and lots and lots of fighting scenes. It was a bit numbing, because of the repetitiveness. Not very good, but if you like zombiemovies, or German horror, watch this.

Pontypool - a film about a Canadian rdaiostation which doesn't just play music, they alo bring local news. Well, the news is breaking indeed: a horde of zombielike people are about in town, and nobody really knows what's going on. The radiocrew (McHattie, Lisa Houle and the lovely Georgina Reilly) has contact with the outside world from time to time and they listen to eye witness reports. This all makes them have an idea what's going on. The trouble will come to them eventually. I enjoyed this very much, I liked the fact that you don't get to see very much in the beginning, the horror is in the sound - which totally goes with the idea of the film. Highly recommended.

Images of a Convent 1979 (DvD Extra - Joe D'Amato - Uncut) - so, to make things clear: I didn't watch the movie, I watched the D'Amato documentary. Well, watched... I skipped through it very fast, because it turned out to be the exact same stuff that I had seen before in the other documentary, only this time I could watch it in much better quality. I still don't get it, though. The longer version (1:47) is 29 fps, while the shorter version (1:05) is 23 fps. Still it looked like they were the same, only the filmsequences were a bit longer in the 29 fps one. The difference in length is quite obvious and with the fps recalculated should be even bigger, right?

Killer Tomatoes Strike Back! - if you don't know the Killer Tomatoes, watch parts 1 and 2 first. If you then like them, watch this. It is nothing new, just a rerun of things which happened earlier 2 or 3 times. The Zucker bros produced this one, so you also get to see a lot of lame jokes.

Deep Evil - Lorenzo Lamas fights slimy alien stuff inside a secluded laboratory, yay! The atmosphere is quite nice, the slime stuff is a nice invention, the story is composed well. That's all which is good about it, all other stuff is quite too much. The ending is, well, cliche. Nothing much special.

Phoenix the Warrior - the titlescreen says She-Wolves of the Wasteland, which is a far more appealing title imo. In thi postnuke world there are only women around an they mostly fight each other, be it because they want to escape slavery or because they have been captured and they are matched in an arena. The story evolves around a boy, who has incredible growing capacities by the way (one scene he's a baby, next scene he is about 6 years old and stays that way until the end of the movie. I want a child like that too!). The supreme mother needs this boy for letting her power grow (how is never explained). Of course she fails, the heroines get the boy back and one of the other main characters is simply forgotten about after one hour into the movie. If you like bad movies, watch this one.

Vampitheatre - this was indeed bad. It is another shameless way for advertising bands. Or more precisely: one band, Theatre Peace. They claim to be vampires and there you go. That's the movie: a lame cliche filled story with loads of music videos. The music itsel wasn't even that bad, I liked it a bit even, but please bands, promote yourself in other ways. It is possible, you know. Avoid this if you're not planning on booking Theatre Peace.

Grace - uuggghhh, this is a despiccable movie, disgusting, I actually think I hate this movie. I regret I watched it even. And I can take some REAL bad stuff and you guys know it. Uuggh, this gave me a dirty feeling in an UNpleasant way. Short: baby gets killed inside womb, mother insists on carrying it until pregnancy would be complete (this is impossible, but hey), Then baby turns out to like blood instead of milk. And some vague vegan lesbianism and mental craziness going on. I must try hard to forget I ever watched this. I'm actually gonna delete this film from my HDD, something I seldomly do. Gross. If you watch this and complain, I'll laugh at you.

Friday:

Wyvern - monster flick with the same cuase of having the monster around as in Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, which made me smile. The acting is quite good and indeed, the CGI is bearable. Only sometimes it is a bit disturbing around the edges. I keep on hoping for a global ban on CGI though, as rubber monsters will never be surpassed by CGI. Still, nice monsterflick.

Highway to Hell - very enjoyable and funny film about racing into hell to get your girlfriend back from Hellcop. Really well made, some weird stuff, but overall a nice movie with many laughs. Recommended!

Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity - yup, title says all. B-movie about two girls who escape prison on some distant planet, only to arrive at another planet whose inhabitant (yes, it's only 1) seems nice, but turns out to be something different. Mildly recommended. If you like bad movies, it's a must see.

Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare - SBiG fest from start to end. Especially the last part is a great ride in badland. The story is somewhat stupid, the plot turns out to be a bit numb, but man, those effects: priceless! Recommended for bad moviefans.

Yesterday:

KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park - vehicle to promote KISS. In this film they do a concert at an amusementpark which is built by a mad scientist. KISS has to stop him and they use their cheap sfx superpowers for that. If you're a KISS fan or a bad moviefan, you should watch this.

The Nightcomers - for some reason I thought this was horror. It isn't. Good acting, but it isn't my thing.

The Intruder aka Rambu - classic bad movie, I had a great laugh watching this. The American dubbing is hilarious, the fighting scenes priceless. If you want some action, or are in for a good laugh, watch this. It is a must see for bad moviefans.

In The Mouth Of Madness - I'm a big Carpenter fan, but I had never seen this one before. It's a shame this one is only on R1 DVD and not for sale in my country. It is a great film, I love it! It has all Carpenter ingredients, except for the music, which is better in his earlier movies imo. The totalness of evil in this film is overwhelming like it should be. If you haven't seen this, go watch it asap.

Star Slammer (Aka Prison Ship) - a great SBiG fest, this scifi WIP flick. A lot of overacting, nice spandex outfits, a hilarious monster and dull androids make this movie ultimately enjoyable. I laughed a lot, this one is gonna be rewatched in the future, that's for sure! A must see for bad moviefans

The Land Unknown - classic scifi which is about a scientific team in the Antarctics. They find some warm-water zone, and they fly there in their helicopter. Then they crash and meet some monsters (Komodo dragons and very fake dinosaurs). Of course, the most dangerous of them all is human... I'm not gonna recommend this, as it is not anything new or special.

Smash Cut - David Hess stars as a director who suffers from bad reviews. The sfx in his films take the cake, because they are so fake looking. Then he decides to start killing in order to get better effects. It all reminded me a lot of Nightmare Concert (the Fulci film, aka Un Gatto nello Cervello), and didn't surpass it. Some nice gore, a nice actress, that's it. I don't think this will be the start of the glorious return to cinema of David Hess. Mildly recommended, but if you want good horror, choose Fulci over this one.

have also watched banshee which i didn't much care for and dark corners which i didn't really get (not good at getting things)

Audie And The Wolf - sometimes funny, sometimes flat horror comedy. It's a somewhat average film in which a wolf turns into a man at full moon, and then acts totally weird. Audie falls in love with him and then it all gos crazy a bit. It's not so long, so it doesn't really get boring. Mildly recommended.

Psychos in Love - the idea for the story is great, but the director didn't pull it off entirely, imo. It could have been much greater/cooler/better. Still, it is kind of nice to see the other side of psycho killers for once. Although I would have chosen a prettier actress for the mainpart, the acting itself is not so bad and the interviews inbetween are somewhat funny. As a whole, it comes out somewhat average, so I'll mildly recommend it.

I am Legend (2007): Wow, this movie was boring - ring - ring. Nothing really happening. Story pretty much stolen from Omega Man. Awful CG zombies destroy the whole atmosphere of the movie. Anyone interested should really go and see Omega Man instead, because this sucks both balls.

Hey, nice to see some fellow contributors :)

Ankle Biters - must have remembered the screenies wrongly, I thought it was a critter-like movie, but instead it is about lilliputter vampires (midgets). And another vampire hunting them. And vampirehunters hunting him and the ankle biters too. A lot of running, ighting and growling. Nothing much of a story, some gore. The bizarreness of it makes it just interesting enough, but that's all. Quite bad, but there are worse films to laugh at. If you're not into midgets, skip it.
