Is the Evil Dead Limited Edition The Book OF The Dead worth buying? I'm an Evil Dead fan, but not very very much. I'm wondering what all those goodies are and if they really add something.

It contains:

Trailer
TV Spots
Commentaries
Biographies
Fanalysis : 26 minute new documentary with Bruce Campbell
Discovering Evil Dead Featurette
Behind The Scenes Footage
Outtakes
Poster And Stills Gallery

I've got the book of the dead version. Nice rubbery cover, nice pages from the book of the dead, the DVD actually slides into a plastic sleeve & then into a fold in the back of the book which is a bit crap. As for the contents of the disk, I've never even put it in the DVD player after owning it for years. :watchingyou:

I was recently concidering pre-ordering this one and strugling to decide if i need ANOTHER Evil Dead DVD in my collection

But I'm a huge fan so it's a no brainer and I will be buying it, but not sure if it is worth the money.

I presume you''re actually talking about Anchor Bays Ultimate Edition out in December?

I love my Evil Dead Book of the Dead Editions. When is Army of Darkness gonna complete the set? Anchor Bay ain't getting my money for yet another release with crap I've already seen on various releases as the bonus goodies. When they finally throw on a cleaned up version of Within the Woods, then I'll shell out more dough.

But realy, the rubber versions are well put together, part 1 better than part 2

I don't know about the others, but I'm talking about the Book of the Dead-edition of Evil Dead. Price is about 25 Euros. I just don't know what to decide!

get it, its just too cool looking, and the 'secret writings' are pretty funny as it's really english written in a funny font. and part 2's rubber version screams when you poke its eye!

Yeah, Book of the Dead edition is the rubbery necronomicon case.
The Ultimate Edition due out December 18th is the blue 'folded' poster case. I
think Anchor Bay has dipped a little often to this well. If you're a collector
then I guess you got to have them all. But honestly, I don't believe for
a minute that this will be the 'Ultimate' edition. I agree with Evilplayground,
where is the 'Within the Woods'? That seems to be the most popular extra
carrot in front of the nose that is never delivered. Feh!

That'll be the "Special Limited Ultimate Collectors BoxSet Edition" due out 2020 to commenorate the Anchor Bay Limited Ultimate Edition of Evil Dead 4, which in it's self is a commemarative DVD Box Set marking the 5 year Anniversary Of the Evil Dead remake...... by which time i'll be broke from buying all these Evil Dead DVDs :P

But I don't think we're ever going to see a good transfer of Within the Woods are we? I thought that for the rubber book edition they were all set to pack it as an extra but that there was HUGE copyright/licensinh problems and they couldn't include it. I remember reading (maybe on Anchorbays forum?) that people were saying that it should appear on pirate/bootleg because AnchorBay actual have it, they just can't sell it :o

Maybe I'm wrong?

Check ebay for the book of the dead double pack. I've seen them go for pretty damn cheap. I got mine for about $60AUD which probably works out to 15-20GBP or so including shipping, but I've seen them way cheaper than that. I think its worth it just to have on display :D
